PharmCon is again presenting " CE On Sunday " , an all day FREE seminar where you can obtain up to 7 (SEVEN) ACPE credits. In addition, continental breakfast is FREE, lunch is FREE. This exceptional day of CE includes door prizes, T-Shirt toss, and your CE certificate is distributed at the end of the seminar. Last year's program in Anaheim was " sold out " and this program will be limited to the first 500 attendees. This year the program will be held in the Northern LA area, possibly Pasadena or Burbank. Review the clinical data for aggressive lipid management. 3. Explain the rationale for combination therapy in lipid management. This session will address identification of patients who may have the syndrome and how to avoid long-term consequences of the syndrome. Outline the cardiovascular consequences of the syndrome. 3. Describe the primary pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments for metabolic syndrome and its component diseases. 4. Describe the role of the pharmacist in screening and monitoring patients with metabolic syndrome. Women's Health Issues: Boning Up on Osteoporosis Presented by Rosenthal, Pharm.D., President, MedOutcomes, Inc. (1.5 Contact hours) ACPE # 798-999-04-060-L01 Today's post-menopausal woman is active and dynamic! Yet, less than 1/3 of cases of osteoporosis have been diagnosed. Pharmacists' interaction with this patient population is critical to help identify those at greatest risk for developing the condition and then achieve treatment goals. List the primary risk factors for osteoporosis 3. Describe therapies for the prevention of osteoporosis 4.
