Guest guest
Dear All, Here are some sites with some great information regarding drug - herb interactions. The first one provides a simple to use/read table. the next twoe are specific drug herb interactions, and then some helpful sites on FDA and liver damage in general. It is my suspicion or hunch that as PTCB gets more item writers this year there may be more herb-drug interaction quesions. At least I think it is time for this to occur. So if I was writing the questions I would have a few on the exam. 1. When drugs and herbs don't mix http://www.consumerreports.org/main/detailv2.jsp?CONTENT%3C% 3Ecnt_id=162779 & FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=21135 2. Q & A: Herbs and drugs to avoid while taking Luvox http://www.stjohn.org/healthinfolib/hgArticle.aspx? DocID=/healthy/alternative/2002/luvox/luvox 3. Sleep-inducing drugs, herbs just don't mix http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/cctimes/living/health/5795938.htm 4. Drugs and Herbs Online http://www.woundcare.org/newsvol4n3/web3.htm 5. Drugs, Herbs, Diet, and the Liver http://www.healthology.com/focus_article.asp? f=liver_disease & b=healthology & c=liver_drugsherbsdiet I hope the above helps you all to study some simple drug-herb interactions which could be on the exam. In my opinion it is about time! Respectfully, Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Chem Pharm Tech Educator
Guest guest
Dear All, You will have to copy and paste the link below for the BEST of teh 5 sites, unless this one works. Guest guest
I put the link into a " Make a Shorter Link " internet webpage, and so this link will then redirect you to the ACTUAL long link: http://makeashorterlink.com/?B1C824AF7 Hey, I'm a computer junkie. I can't help it! Of course, I ALSO DID go to bed 3 hours ago and now I'm up again! I was WIDE awake in bed, now I'm up and yawning. Guess I get to finish the night on the couch so I can actually GET some sleep! (This on/off insomnia thing is NOT fun sometimes. I should probably REALLY go in for a sleep study!)
