Guest guest
Kahlil- Here's a cut and paste from the PTCB regarding eligibility requirements for the exam. Eligibility Requirements You must have received a high school diploma, a GED, or the foreign equivalent by the application receipt deadline and have never been convicted of a felony to sit for the PTCB Examination. Here's the link to the site: http://ptcb.org Texas may have additional requirements---but that would be up to the Texas BOP to implement/enforce,not the PTCB Dora Group Mod > I have a question, I have heard from some people, in order to take > the exam after the March 2004 exam. Guest guest
Dear Kahlil, I agree with Dora, there is no requirement to have graduated from a Voc school/tech program in order to take the PTCB exam. However it is possible that a state may make that a law. I have heard nothing regarding Texas and this. However it could be being 'talked' about. I do not believe that it will happen however. But that is only speculation and opinion on my part. Guest guest
That would be new news to me. Texas is actually enacting the 'Technician Registration' part of the law that was in place several years ago. But I don't know anything about requiring one to go through/successfully complete a vocational training in order to take the PTCB. Here's a reference FAQ: http://www.tsbp.state.tx.us/files_pdf/techinformationupdate.PDF And here's the latest TSBP Newsletter: http://www.tsbp.state.tx.us/files_pdf/Winter_2004.pdf Della Cat Haven, Inc A No-Kill Cat Rescue (501c3) Houston, Tx www.cat-haven.org Upcoming exam question (Texas) I have a question, I have heard from some people, in order to take the exam after the March 2004 exam. You would have to have graduated from a school (ie Vocational School) in order to take the exam. I was just wondering about the validity of this.
