Guest guest
Hi, I'm registered to take the PTCB exam in July in California. I am currently studying the Certification Review for Pharmacy Technicians by Noah Reifman. I have a couple of questions: 1)Do I need to know specific California laws that are not in this book? If so, where can I find this info. 2)What part of the material should I concentrate on most. I heard that math is about 50% of the exam? 3)Is the whole exam multiple choice on a scantron? Thank you! I've been studying at home, and I am SO relieved to have found a site like this. Thanks!!! Sommy
Guest guest
Hi Sommy- Welcome to the group. The PTCB exam sticks to Federal Law questions---too much variance in state laws when it comes to tech duties/responsibilites--- I doubt the exam would be 50% math---although it may seem like it to some. You will need to be comfortable and proficient in pharmacy math, no doubt about it. (we have lots of tutorials in our files section) The test questions cover 3 areas---here's the breakdown percentage from the PTCB website: *Assisting the pharmacist in serving patients---64% *Maintaining medication and inventory control systems 25% *Participation in administration and management of pharmacy practice 11% In addition, each question is scaled according to its difficulty. That is, some questions are worth more points than others. The test is multiple choice, the answer sheets are electronically scored. When will you be taking the exam? Guest guest
Dear Sommy, Yes it is a good book. However like ALL books it does have its share of errors. Some typos and some incorrect answers. It is one of the oldest or original review books, now in its 6th edition. Take a look at the files section and the book and guidebook review that I have compiled and placed on this site a while back. Once again I am way ahead of your and your needs! You WILL find Noah's book on that list. Hope this helps you out, Respectfully, Jeanetta Founder/Owner > > > > > > 1)Do I need to know specific California laws that are not in this > > > book?
