, Goooogle Friedrich's Ataxia oxidative stress

glutathione. Better yet, do it on PubMed or follow the links in

my neurodegenerative illnesses protocol.

For now, here's a quote from one of the studies:

" There is significant evidence that the pathogenesis of several

neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's disease,

Alzheimer's disease, Friedreich's ataxia (FRDA), multiple

sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, may involve the

generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and/or reactive

nitrogen species (RNS) associated with mitochondrial dysfunction.

"

Friedrich's Ataxia is linked to a lot of diseases and all of the

other mitochondrial disorders in several ways. For example, cell

walls and cell function is compromized by high levels of omega-6

dietary oils; iron is implicated in many studies as a potent

oxidizer and aggravator of oxidative stress.

Generally, anything you can do to promote ATP generation and

reduce oxidative stress and toxin load is good; have a look at my

neurodegeneratives protocol below for clues.
