Unfortunately, the new Dells do not have parallel ports.

How about the USB port? Won't that work or is there some reason you

have to go with a parallel port?

I have a Dell 5160 and needed to get a PCMCIA card. It works fine with

the card.

The white box of the QXCI won't connect directly to a USB port. An SCIO will connect to a USB port. If you have a QXCI then you will need a port replicator in order to hook it up. This is for new Dell laptops. The older laptops do have parallel ports.
