Firstly go into control panel then double click on display then settings, you will notice that this is where you can adjust the screen size if it will not go to 1280x1024 then click on advanced then monitor. on this page you will see a square that has been clicked unclick it. It says hide modes that this monitor cannot display. You will then find that you can adust the screen to the appropriate size. If your screen is still not showing all, should be larger and not fit everything on the page use your cursor and move it towards the edge of the screen and the rest will be reveiled This is how I got around this problem.
