Many of my clients find MACA from www.wholeworldbotanicals.com is a great supplement for hot flashes. I would not recommend any other brand as this company uses only Certified Royal Maca roots whereas other companies may use other parts of the plant that are not as effective. This herb also helps the thyroid gland and many women have been able to reduce or eliminate their thyroid medication by taking Maca. I monitor my thyroid by temperature only.

If that doesn't seem to help, I would recommend Suzanne Somer's book on bio-identical hormone supplementation. This book is full of fascinating information on natural hormone balancing for women AND men.

Question re Menopause protocols etc

Dear group,

I would be grateful if anyone can give me any advice on helping my partner deal with the frequent hot flushes she is experiencing during menopause. I have been earnestly suggesting that she does not take HRT (easy for me to say as I am not suffering the hot flushes!) but do not know which natural supplements / approaches have proven to be effective.

She is not a lover of taking 'pills' and tends to forget to take them but she has tried Red Clover and I have run the auto therapies and hormone balance but without much success.

If she does not find something soon to make a difference I fear she will end up going on HRT.

Many thanks,

Try Black Cohosh and Progesterone. You take the Cohosh until the progesterone

balances the system and then discontinue.

FYI - Dr. Lee is the authority on hormone replacement for menopausal conditions. He states that there needs to me a certain amount of certain ingredients in a natural formula for it work effectively. One of the brands that works (because there is tons of stuff out there that doesn't work) is Nugest 900 by Nutraceutics. I personally have used it for 10 years and I have had a complete hysterectomy. If you are interested in purchasing Nugest 900 at wholesale (this is not mlm) contact me personally. moneca@...

With Red clover and other isoflavone supplements or foods a healthy bowel

flora is essential to activate them. Therefore it is worth checking bowel

flora on the SCIO and remedying with Probiotics, FOS and dietary changes

etc.. prior to use of these supplements.

Good wishes

Hello Mike,

I agree with Moneca's info re: Dr. Lee and Menopause.

He's written acouple books - one called " Menopause and what your

doctor is not telling you. " Excellent. I do use a nataural

Progesteron cream that was put together by Dr. Lee called " Gest

One " it is from a MLM and I sell it wholesale. I swear by it

myself - and have several loyal & very happy QXCI friends using

it now - both men & women. If you'd like feel free to email me

your name & mailing address and I'll get you an audio tape of Dr

Lee's free in the mail to you. Its also my belief that better

nutritional support especially detoxing & supporting the liver &

bowels has helped me greatly - as exercise & meditation have

helped balanced me too. Does she exercise at all?

There is also a saliva test that I did from ZRT LABS in WA that

pointed me in the right direction too. The company I deal with

sells those too.

Enjoy your day & weekend!

Love,

Progesterone cream seems to be a standard for women going into menopause. It is suggested that the individual apply it to the soft tissue in the groin and under the arms and move it around to various areas, (Also helps with osteoblast production--bone cell growth) . Using the hormone would be a treatment more at a causal level. Also, never forget how important EFAs are to hormone production, building blocks of hormones.

If you find fatty acids are low on qxci testings, which they usually are, make sure these are added in. Additionally, Vitex/Chaste tree berry extract taken to reset the pituitary and can therefore, eliminate hot flashes. We use Zand brand with excellent results, follow the directions initially and increase if necessary. Usually four to six weeks is enough of Vitex. I use progesterone from Dixie Labs in Marietta, GA.
