It could be or it could not be....It could be the weather making you crabby? See so we need the sun.

Ok I"m gone since I really can't handle this. I know hubby is cranky lately as well I just tell him where to shove his crankiness. But I won't be telling you that. But hubby sometimes takes all his stuff and sometimes don't he's not fully on it all the time and I'm sure his body hates that.

The only thing I can think of is detoxing may help?

Ok. Twice in two days I've had a major crab attack where I responded totally inappropriately to something at work. Seriously, I'm pretty level most of the time. It takes a lot to get to me so this is totally out of character.

My question is this, could this be related to the iodoral? I've been taking 37.5 mg in the morning and following with salt and water. The past three days, I've also taken 12.5 mg in the afternoon (around lunch), again with salt and water following. I am taking vitamin C and if I don't take the salt water, I do get a headache though it is mild compared to a couple weeks ago.

I'm wondering if there is a connection to my flipping out and the iodoral. I don't like that reactivity at all!!! Am I just grouchy or am I grouchy for a reason? Thanks Steph. It's nice to know that info and to know what to do about it. Reacting that way was pretty scary for me....totally not how I usually react to things.

I'll get going on increasing my supplements and hope that helps. I seem to have leveled out at 50 for the moment. I'll not increase except on weekends from now on so as to avoid those little wig outs. I am not surprised. In fact, if the legislature (actually the House) does not

agree to pass an income tax increase of probably at least 4-5% many of the

individuals currently being supported will either lose services completely or

will have reduced services...those not currently being served will be waiting

even longer. I hate to say it, but this is crunch time folks...you had better

be calling your State Representatives and literally BEGGING them to vote for an

income tax increase.

Question

I am wondering if anyone else is hearing the same from their agencies. please

read the letter my sib friend wrote me this morning below.

Tara Kosieniak

Hi Tara,

Have any of the agencies you’ve worked with (or the other sibs) heard that

the State of Illinois might not pay their back balances to providers (the money

IL owes them to date)?

St. Coletta of WI/IL, reports being owed nearly $700,000 for services provided

March-May. If IL doesn’t pay back balances, when the 2010 budget goes into

effect, St. Coletta will be owed nearly $1 million. Obviously devastating

stuff.

I imagine if other agencies are experiencing the same, providers will be

dropping like flies. Please let me know what you and the other sibs are hearing

on this front.

I would say in both of your cases a good dose would be 50 mgs. Cancer patients seem to do well on that dose but may have toxicity issues as well so making sure the supporting nutrients are taken is important. You can read about it on my website at www.naturalthyroidchoices.com I am not familiar with Lyme disease and iodine. I would say try it and see how it goes.

Steph

question

,What would be the optimal dose? I hear both 50 and 100mg.I am Thyroidless so want to start. I will try to get an Iodine Loading test after my doc appt. I have to get my Iodoral from the breast cancer website. Also, My mom has Lyme Disease as well as has history of Thyroid and Breast cancers. What would you recommend her dose to be? I will also request a test for her. Not sure I can get one. I looked on the breastcancer.org website and the Iodine website but could not find the appropriate dose for Lyme Disease - although it does state it should be used for Lyme Dx.Thank you so much!De

I also suffer from DDD (along with many other spinal problems) and had tkr 3

weeks ago. It's just as likely your knee/hip pain is making your back worse than

the other way around. FWIW I have had no back pain at all since my tkr.

Of course every body is different.

Joint Replacement

Sent: Friday, June 12, 2009 3:52:15 PM

Subject: Question

I recently joined the group interested to learn what to do and maybe to find

out whether I might need hip and knee replacements or spine surgery.  I have

not seen any posts regarding this.

Here's my problem.  I continue to wonder whether my hip and knee symptoms

are stemming from DDD (disintegrative disc disease). I don't know if anyone

has this complication as well, and wonder how do you distingish the symptoms

of DDD which cause hip and knee pain from symptoms of needing either hips

and/or knee replacement?  My hips hurt and my knees hurt sometimes to the

point of not being able to walk.  If there were a way to fix my spine to

relieve the pain that causes the hip and knee pain and dysfunction I would

do that.  Hope I am making myself clear and that possibly someone in the

group has information pertaning to my concern so that I can determine what

to do next.  Thanks.

It is often quite difficult to diagnose exactly what is causing pain

since pain can be referred and/or pain can be caused by misuse of the

body from pain in another part of the body -- i.e. all the pain caused

by a bad hip.

You would need to seek medical help to diagnose the source of your

pain. I consider myself lucky that my pain was easily diagnosed as it

was caused by my hip even though it created pain down to my foot as

well as in my back.

Depending on what an examination shows, there are tests that can be

done to try to locate the source of pain -- nerve blocks can be given

to see if pain comes from that source for example. MRI's can sometimes

indicate damage. However, diagnosis is tricky since an MRI of a person

WITHOUT pain can also show " issues " .

Have you seen a doctor for your pain? I would think that would be your

next appropriate step. As the responses have indicated, bad hips and

knees can produce a variety of symptoms and only a skilled

diagnostician who is examining you in person and ordering appropriate

tests can even attempt to figure out the source of pain.

For most it's a process of eliminating the most obvious. Generally

people with a bad knee KNOW they have a bad knee because that knee

hurts badly. Hip issues can be more subtle since the pain actually

presents for most people in the groin -- as well as all over the leg

and lower back.

Thanks jujulabee! With all the input from everyone, and mostly from the

level of pain, I am 'very' motivated to find a good OS in my area. Since I

am close to UCSF Med Center I think I'll find a good one there. Holly talks

about Dr. Coon who is about two hours away from me, so maybe I can see him.

I'll check.

It is time for me to get serious and find out what is going on. That's for

certain. I'm tough, but I'm not this tough to endure this level of pain

much longer let alone the detraction from any kind of semblance of a decent

life.

Thank you all so very much. What a group!

Dr. Coon is certainly an option if one has been diagnosed as needing a

knee replacement.

However, if you are located in San Francisco, I would seek medical

expertise in your area to diagnose and then use Dr. Coon for a

surgical consult or as a surgeon if you need a knee replacement.

However, at least in my experience, knee issues are pretty obvious --

people have pain in their knees and it's clear that the pain is coming

from the knees.

From what you are describing it sounds to me that you should find a good

acupuncturist and not only get acupuncture, but go on an anti-inflammatory

diet. I did both and they really helped. In addition, a goo pt helps too.

yes, you will gain it all back. you need to do 23 consecutive days of HCG with the diet as a minimum, otherwise the weight lost with HCG will not stay off. From: amandaaaguilera <amandaaaguilera@...> Sent: Saturday, June 13, 2009 4:52:08 PMSubject:

S, have you had any XRays to check on the status of your hips, back or knees?

Since everything is connected, back, hip, knee....finding the most severe

culprit should be done with XRays first.

Also, have you seen a rheumatologist? Do you know that you have DDD or could it

be an inflamatory arthritis?

I had my hip cartilage go bad in 2006, had both resurfed, then my knees went bad

about 6 months later. I don't know how you do it, feeling all are gone bad at

the same time!

My rheumatologist is always getting biopsies at my surgeries to see if I have

inflammatory arthritis, so far not. I am hypermobile and that can cause joints

to disintegrate or dislocate easily. Are you hypermobile?

If you do end up needing a knee replacement, Dr. Coon is in St. Helena often

now, he only does knees. It is very nice to have a quick recovery and

comforting to know he has done so many, you're in good hands.

He doesn't accept outside XRays though, he will look at them but always takes

his own just before your consultation.

Good luck tracking your problem down.

You would have to ask the place you got it from for the % because it can

MS has been tied to very low Vit D levels. Have you checked them?

Also - this seems obvious to me but I am assuming you do not consume

artificial sweeteners.

Dr. Hal Huggins was dx'd with MS and he determined that it was tied to the

mercury poisoning he had from amalgam fillings. He improved by removing

them safely and chelating.

Someone posted a link to a woman who healed herself of MS. I wanted to say

it was a Dr. but I can't find the link. Maybe someone has it.

How much are you taking a day? Too much if you are not used to it will cause

your problems. Start out with 1 tbs in the morning and slowly go up from there

with a small serving throughout the day, and none 3-4 hours before bedtime.

have been having ongoing trouble in this department and today I went all day
