I found the answer to my own question yesterday at Dana Farber, when they gave

me two

Tylenol before giving me intravenous imunoglobulin. Evidently we are allowed to

take

Tylenol. Thus far, one day, the imunoglobulin has done nothing to cure my

cough, and I

feel worse, although the treatment itself was easy to handle. Carolyn R. Swift

Heh Carolyn and other readers - Speaking specifically in reference to

CLL, I know that I was also given tylenol when I got my rituxin

treatments, so tylenol is obviously ok.

In general, I've come to the conclusion that, at least for me, tylenol,

when used as prescribed, is the only " safe " pain reliever. I am

currently waiting for blood test results and ultrasound results to

determine why protein is showing up in my urine. The nephrologist said

it could be from the CLL, but was more convinced that minimal damage has

been done to my kidneys from using ibuprophen on a regular basis for

many years. I've also developed Barrett's esophagus, a precancerous

condition of the esophagus, from ibuprophen use. Something for all of

us to think about.

Just wanted to share this with all of you. Of course, each one of us is

different, but it remains that we need cautious about the drugs we take

on a regular basis and the effects they may have on our organs.- at

least as much as we possibly can given our situation.

Hope all have a great day (with no aches and pains).

Good Morning all...

I have watched the threads here for a while now. but was driven to

answer or make comment about tylenol....

My Hemo/Onc told me to take anything over the counter but make sure it

does not have ibpro in it.. that people with cll need to stay away from

that.

I just had a bone marrow biopsy done Monday because my levels are not

holding up for the past 3 months I get platelets and red blood cell

transfusions..

They use to hold for a little over a week now they are not holding 5

days.. so going to see if the chemo burned all my bone marrow, or if my

body is just that full of CLL.

Yesterday, I had a nose bleed that would not stop.. but I received my

platelets and this morning I am doing fine, no nose bleed.. they did

tell me to use Ocean Spray every 30 min and put a ice pack on my head

or neck area...

Tomorrow Thursday I get my results of my BMB. Hoping it says I just

need to give it time to heal.... wish me luck....

Thank you for giving me chance to put my two cents worth in lol...

Good Luck Bonnie and everyone here as well... I wish everyone the very

best...

Patty

I think that's right. I had a partial fundoplycation and was told that

it was a procedure that would help the acid from coming back up into

my E. I think, but need to get it cleared up, that a " wrap " and a

fundoplycation are the same thing. :)

Hi Tamara,

There are several different kinds of fundoplications. A Touplet (Spelling?),

Nissan and a Dor. A Touplet is a full wrap and the Nissan is ( I think) an

anterior ( half way round the front of the LES) wrap and a Dor is a

posterior wrap (also halfway round the back of the LES.). They take some of

the stomach wall and wrap it round the LES to form a valve to prevent acid

from entering the oesophagus. A Dor ( half wrap) is the most common as it

seems to give the least problems. Problems occur if they do the wrap too

tight or if scar tissue makes it contract and squeeze the opening shut. When

I have a moment I will go and look up the different kinds to make sure I

have it right - right now I am a bit spaced out and exhausted.

I believe that Nissen is a full wrap, Toupet is a three-quarters wrap,

and Dor is a half wrap. To remember them, think of a toupe, which is a

partial covering :-), and Dor as in dorsal as a posterior-only wrap

(though Dor is someone's name and doesn't come from dorsal).

Cilantro is like parsley. Coriander, a spice, is the seed of cilantro.

Aduki beans are like mung beans but a burnt red color. They can be sprouted and

eaten or cooked to eat. You may only find them in health food stores or

oriental markets.

Hi ,

I would definitely get them further checked out...

While the tsh's are in the normal range and a lot of doc's would say they are just fine...but a good doc will notice the disparites in the ft4 ft3 tests...my own doc doesn't pay much attention to the tsh, luckily and I am finally on the road to wellness...

I have read many times over the years about moods, depression, bipoalr, adhad and a lot of other supposedly mental or emotional problems, a lot of times are nothing more than un-treated or under-medicated thyroid disease...

Did they test for antibodies for Hashi's or Graves disease? They should...these are both autoimmune thyroid diseases and should be checked out because if this is the case, and they tell you that the kids are normal without checking, they will continue to get worse, most likely...I am including a link for doctors who have been reccommended by thyroid patients...too many doctors have their heads up their butts when it comes to all of this...on your son the ft3 is too high and the daughter's ft4 is way too low...insist on further testing... do your homework and find the name of a good doc in your area and ask for the referral to them...

http://thyroid.about.com/cs/doctors/a/topdocs.htm you can check for reccommended doctors in your area...this is also a great site to research thyroid and related items...

Hi everyone,

I have Hashi's and just had labs drawn on my 14 year old son and 12 year old daughter. My mom is a lab tech, so she can do routine checks on family members.

I'm not sure what to make of the results, there is obviously a problem with both of them.... Any input would be much appreciated... I will have to convince their pediatrition to refer them to an endo (insurance purposes).

Results for my son (Chris)

TSH 0.875 ( 0.465 - 4.68 )

FT4 0.85 ( 0.78 - 2.19 )

FT3 5.82 ( 2.77 - 5.27 ) Flagged HI

TT4 4.41 ( 5.53 - 11.0 ) Flagged LO

T3U 34.4 ( 23.5 - 40.6 )

FT4I 1.52 ( 1.65 - 4.07 ) Flagged LO

He has been complaining of dizzy spells and seems fatigued, sluggish and sleeps often. He is very thin, underweight actually.

Results for my daughter (Brittany)

TSH 1.32 ( 0.465 - 4.68 )

FT4 0.67 ( 0.78 - 2.19 ) Flagged LO

FT3 4.14 ( 2.77 - 5.27 )

TT4 5.30 ( 5.53 - 11.0 ) Flagged LO

T3U 26.6 ( 23.5 - 40.6 )

FT4I 1.41 ( 1.65 - 4.07 ) Flagged LO

She sometimes appears sluggish. She is very athletic, which keeps her from getting too heavy, but as soon as she slacks off of the physical activity she gains noticable weight instantly. She also has behavioral problems. She was diagnosed with ODD and has an evaluation scheduled for Bipolar Disorder. My mom (who has Graves) thought some of my daughters mood swings may be due to her thyroid being out of whack. That's what originally prompted us to go ahead and run tests on both of them.

Hi Bee,

Thanks so much for your advice!

We did not test for antibodies, the lab where my mom works doesn't have the capability to do so in-house. That will definitately be the first thing I request when I take them to see a doc! Thank you for the link, that will help me out a lot! Is there anything thing else I should ask the doc for?

The doc I was seeing locally wasn't very impressive, I wasn't looking forward to sending my children to see her! I had asked her to check my adrenals, because I have been having a lot of related symptoms, she told me that the adrenals either work or they don't and since I'm not underweight with constant diareha there couldn't be a problem. She then told me that the thyroid was an "easy fix", she would adjust my dosage and give me a prescription for Wellbutrin to "take the edge off of life". Thanks for nothing doc! ....and I owe you how much?

As for my daughter with the mental/emotional disorders... I would feel much more relaxed treating the problem by route of thyroid meds etc. v/s shoving a mood stabilizer like lithium down her throat!

Thanks again! I will begin my new doc search Mon morning :)

!!!!! This, is a very serious thing indeed. It is (obviously) not

related DIRECTLY to the band (but rather, indirectly to the surgery).

Can she get another (not her band doctor) surgeon and/or doctor to

look at it? The only other thing I can think of is some reaction to

the port material, but that shouldn't happen because of the material

used in it. Have you researched on other, non-band surgical sites for

info about incisions that won't heal?

If yours are done as mine were, the way Dr. A does it, it is one

stitch that goes long ways under the skin.. its not zig zag like

doctors do here. Really its kind cool... all you do is clean the

area, take pair twisters and pull and one end and it comes right

out :) Very simple and painless!

There are several places within the program to help with stress analysis here. 1. Activate Frequency Modulation Program will take you to the Brain wave pattern therapy.

2. Timed Therapies, Music & Superlearning will take you to Quick Check of Phase which will try and balance the right and left hemispheres.

3. Timed Therapies, Music & Superlearning to Timed Treatments//Enable//Start Auto Neurological Repair

4. Timed Therapies, Music & Superlearning to top ruler bar to PHASERx//C-Scan Access although this is another entry to the cancer scan it also brings up a button "Scan Brain Foci"

5. Spinal//Timed Therapies//You will find all the main areas of the brain here.

6. Test Matrix//Programs drop down//Short Sarcode Rx//Facial & Eye & Gums Diagnosis tab//Brain (2 spots there) also under Ear & etc there are 6 buttons for "extra" the top 2 of them are for brain.

7. Test matrix, search box

8. Biofeedback//Organ System//Brain

Well this gives you the places to start, if you need help with what to do with any of them, let me know off line at kathyqx@...

Kristy,

Your post isn't very specific. How long have you had your band?

Have you had a fill? How much? Do you have proper restriction? What

exactly are you eating and how much of it are you eating? Have you

tried tracking your daily food/alcohol intake on Fitday.com? (its

free) What type of exercise are you doing? how much? How often?

Have you talked to your Dr? Are you seeing a therapist?

If you can answer those questions and any other information you can

think of that I didn't, there are a lot of us on this board that

could give you suggestions.

Hello group-this has happened to me a number of times. When I go to therapy page to do

therapies there will be listed-Autotrivector therapy and trivector and DNA

therapy as the 2 choices. There is only one trivector button -or is trivector

and DNA therapy located somewhere else? If so where? Thanks for the info. O’Lone

There is only one button but remember that the more repetitive the more important. The normal will come up saying Trivector DNA but it will also come up as you listed, the third way it can come up is Hololinguistics which means to piggyback the Hololinguistics section to the Trivector DNA work you should do.
