Guest guest
There is another group that has a very restrictive forum and it was pretty easy for me to find them. This forum is " open " because members can voice their opinions without being censored (I know this is true because I read all the archives). Guest guest
I got so many spams and had to unsubscribe to all of them one by one. I wonder if these spammers get thru us through our group. How to delete a message/ in NC OT , I know what you mean. I like to keep a forum as open as possible too, though sometimes some folks make it impossible to do. I have left the members info open for members to see because I screen people now. I'm glad you are open or I'd never have found you! :-0 The worst group I was on was a writing forum. I didn't get email and often didn't make it over to read on the forum. I started getting all of this porno junk in my email and wondered what was up. I started checking on the many forums I'm on and discovered that this particular writing forum apparently had been abandoned by the moderator and people were openly joining the forum just to post porno stuff and spam the members. I was outraged that a moderator would let something like that happen. of SC > Hi , Thanks for the directions. Its nice to know there is someone in our group with experience in moderation I can contact.I did figure it out. As yet we have not been overly bothered by stange postings so I prefer this group to be as open a forum as possible. I will turn to tighter moderation if it ever becomes necessary. > IN NC
Guest guest
I too am getting heaps of spams of late, mostly from individual, innocent looking names but all about the same nonsense. I block them as they come in but it's not much use as they only strike once, and then return with another name. Could it really be through the group? Is anyone else having this problem of late? Guest guest
My ISP has what they call " Spam Catcher. " It filters out about 50 emails a day. I've thought of looking for a less expensive internet provider, but that spam filter is worth every penny. Guest guest
-It is possible .But I dont think so .My Spam quotient has actually dropped. I have 2 email addresses This one which I keep for purely and personal contacts and one that I do my online ordering and such from people who may sell my email to others. My account hasnt changed in Volume And I havent noticed any Spam coming in. -- In Coconut Oil , " Sharon M " <smaas@b...> wrote: > I too am getting heaps of spams of late, mostly from individual, innocent looking names but all about the same nonsense.
