In coconut consuming countries (such as the Philippines) coconut oil is traditionally used for a hot oil treatment for hair in salons. The oil is massaged in, you spend some time with it on, and eventually the hair is rinsed, and becomes thicker and shinier as a result of repeated treatment. Shiny not as a result of oiliness - but silkier, more lustrous. Think long, straight, black hair such as that of asian women - not sure what the effect would be on blonde hair :-) Even before salons were invented this was a common practice for hundreds of years. This is not as unusual as it may sound - there coconut oil is found in soaps, conditioners, and shampoos after all. Coconut oil is also great as a massage oil for thai-style massages (the works, with the incense and everything). The oil used is either in its natural state (coconut aroma) or scented with citrus or some flower essence. Great stress buster.

If nothing else, it will make bald skin look nicer! Guest guest
Would drinking it (coconut oil) do the same thing? (You can tell I'm behind trying to catch up on my reading here.) aireph > >Hi, I have heard that some men have had AWESOME results putting > >coconut oil on their scalp and have regrown their hair.
