Question..Is Expeller pressed coconut Oil required to have a use by Date on the

Label ....

I just purchased Expeller pressed C.O. for cooking over the internet, (it was

offered at a special price but there was no mention of short use by Date, or any

Use by Date for that matter in the web page product description)..

Is it normal too not include a Use-By Date on the label for Expeller Pressed

C.O.?

I have purchased Virgin C.O. from this same company ...also at a special

discount price previously & there was always a Use-By Date on the label for the

Virgin C.O. in these cases ...thats why I wonder at the situation for Expeller

pressed (which I have never purchased before...so I have no comparison)

It seems odd though that the company in Question includes a Use by Date for

Virgin C.O & not for expeller pressed....or is it just me , What are others

thoughts on this .....do you normally see a Use by Date on your C.O. label?

Thanks

Cold pressed or centrifuge processed vcno , both using low heat, have longer

shelf lives. They could last from 2 to 3 years.

Thankyou for the reply ...although I am not sure that you answered my

specific question...(or if you did I am too dumb to recognize that fact from the

response you provided)..The question was...

... " Question..Is Expeller pressed coconut Oil required to have a use by Date on

the Label .... "

....So are you saying that because of the fact that Expeller pressed has a

shorter shelf life that it is not required to have a Use-By Date?...(sorry I am

not good at inferring or assuming)

Thanks

I undersatnd your question as relating specifically to the requeirement to

carry a use-by date on the label - the actual shelf life not being

questioned, but the actual labelling. I would think that this depends ont he

country in which it is sold - if their regulations require labels always to

carry a use by date, then I should think expeller pressed should also carry

this on the label. But I am no expert.

What i wanted to say is that maybe the expiration date on the expeller pressed

oil was not indicated because it probably would go bad sooner than their vcno.
