I am short but am i a Dwarf?

I am 18 and I am 4'8 but I dont know if that makes me a dwarf or

not. I am sorry if this is a dumb statement but I am trying to

understand. I have normal proportions and everything but I am just

short. My parents never had me tested for anything because they

didnt see a problem. I am just not sure if just being short makes

you a dwarf or you have to have some genetic difference.

I didnt really start thinking about it to much untill I saw several

shows on Maury (the talk show) that had people on that were my size

and some were a inch or two taller. Could anyone explain things to

me?

which will tell you everything you wanted to know about dwarfism but were afraid

to ask.

Technically speaking , according to the medical profession, anyone 4'10 " or less

is a dwarf - even if you don't have a form of dwarfism. Do try to be

evaluated/diagnosed in the interest of your health. Some types of dwarfism have

medical issues that need to be evaluated or addressed. As you say, you may not

have a form of dwarfism, but there are other factors that can inhibit growth.
