Hello everyone!

For most of you who will get this letter, it is WAY OFF TOPIC for the

E-Groups I belong to. This letter will be more powerful than we all can imagine.

Ah yes, the power of the infamous PEN!

I felt it is something worth me sharing and a fore warning for anyone you

happen to know that MAY be disabled, so PASS THIS ALONG, and if you decide

to forward this, PLEASE BCC it, so we won't have a massive forwards with

email addressees, I'm more concerned with it's contents.

I haven't told too many people about my personal life but here goes.

Last April, just before I got married, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis

aka RA. RA is a very crippling progressive disease, which your own immune

system attacks the fluids between your joints, causing severe pain and

swelling, and eventually it can totally cripple you. There is no cure. You

have it and you have to learn how to deal with it on a daily basis. Anyone at

any age can get this disease. For me it has stricken me from my shoulders to

my fingers tips, and most of you know how I use my hands in my art work and

doll work. There are days it's all I can do to get out of bed or to do

simple chores, the pain is excruciating. At times like this they tell you

to take pain pills and go to bed, do not fight the force. This is closely

link to Lupus and Fibromyalgia.

OK why am I here then? Keep reading your cake will soon be frosted, as mine

was!

AT this time in my life I have been slowly replacing small appliances in my

home. Some needed it some not...but I figured it will more than likely be the

last time I will need to do this. Kids growing, and leaving so my usage of

these items will be far less than 20 years ago. I figured new warrantees and

extended ones will keep me pretty independent and not having to ask my kids

for help, or anyone else. WRONG!

On Sept. 27th. I purchased a 1.5 cu. ft. SHARP Convection Microwave, yes the

BIG one. This is a $500.00 counter top microwave, I also purchased all the

extended warrantees I could at the time. I bought the counter top version for a

few reasons. IF I ever have to be in a wheelchair I can REACH it! AND I do

not have to LIFT the food above my head to cook either! Good Idea right?

YES!....and then again NO!

Well, as you guessed it , it's broke and needs service. So I called Jetsons,

whom I bought it from. Seeing it's only a few months old, piece of cake right?

WRONG!

Because this is a counter top model I have to BRING IT IN! They refused to come

out to my home and fix it! There are days I can't lift a paint brush never mind

a 75lbs. microwave oven!!! Jetsons was more than compliant, they did come and

get it AFTER I had my usual tantrum. The salesman, Danny, knows NO ONE in

this household can lift it, carry it, put it in the trunk, and take to be

serviced. Danny was more than helpful. He sent out a service tech. who took

it to be serviced.

But my fight is not with Jetsons...it's with SHARP. Talk about nasty, rude and

non caring people! I called Sharp and asked them even with the extended

warrantees I had purchased etc. that NO ONE will come OUT to fix this, due to

the fact I cannot lift it....they said YES but you have to PAY for it! PAY? I

have, threefold!!! The customer rep. was NOT at all helpful, she was down

right rude. She told me that Sharp makes NO allowances for disabled persons! If

it is broke you have to get it to where it can be serviced! I replied . " You

mean to tell me with today's human rights with the handicapped you do not

comply with any of the rulings? " She said: " Sharp makes NO allowances for the

disabled or the like! " I nearly fell off my chair!! I'm not in a wheelchair

yet, but what about the rest of the world??? What about them??? We have

parking, ramps, public bathrooms ALL for the handicapped, for their

accessibility. Why is Sharp NOT accessible for them or someone like myself? I

then told her I would think twice next time I purchased a Sharp product, she

replied, " Ma'am, I'm sorry you feel that way! " HOW DARE SHE put that ball back

in MY court! Talk about LIVID! She needs a course in social graces, maybe even

a Ph.D!

OK here's the deal. I'm not here for sympathy or the like. I want this letter

forwarded to everyone you know, and to every major appliance manufacturer you

have a web address for...< I'M SCREAMING OUT LOUD NOW! >.....let the general

public know how Sharp feels about disabled people! We are being discriminated

against and with NO allowances for the like. Protocol CAN be changed!!!

I was told to address a letter to them, so here it is. I intend to print this

out and mail it to them. If you want to add your penned to this you can mail

it to:

If anyone out their can forward this to any correct government ageny to bring

a situation to light I'd much appreciate it.

Help me spread the word, personally I think their policies STINK and are in dire

need of CHANGE!

Thanks for listening,
