Guest guest
Dear Pat: I decrease the pain meds the day I start to feel goofy from them. It seems to me that my body stops using them for pain completely when the flare subsides, and then you all of a sudden are feeling drugged. Of course, you must taper slowly off of a narcotic pain medication, otherwise you can have side effects like severe diarrhea.

Guest guest
Pat B. This disease is enough to stress anyone out. I can open my eyes one morning and feel like cleaning my house from top to bottom, fix dinner for my hubby and actually enjoy it, play with my grandson run errands, shop, shop, shop, and then in a few days all I want to do is stay in bed, with a heating pad, covered with 3 blankets and cover my head and wish this awful thing called PA never entered my life. At times it keeps me a prisoner in my own home and I hate it, but I have taught myself positive thinking and keep plugging on hoping things do not get worse. I had to take an early retirement due to this disease. I wasn't ready mentally but physically I was and am now glad I did. Now I don't have to have the guilts about calling in at least once a week saying, " I just can't get out of bed. " or " I feel like an 18 wheeler ran me down " . I have learned to cope. About the food cravings. I have them all the time. I went through a cheese thing for 2 months, just finished with a grapefruit crave and am now on a Baloney crave and frozen storebought pizza (not together though). I thought mine was menapausel (sp?). And the funny thing about the cravings is all of a sudden I just don't want to look at that particular food for a long, long time. It is like I lose my taste for it. I don't know? I thought I was the only one? Now I am so glad I am not going crazy. My hubby says it is just like when I was pregnant and drives him crazy. Try not to stress too much and try to feel better. Angera
Guest guest
Hi Pat, I hope that you start feeling better. Being bummed out is no way to live. Take a break and do something that you enjoy. Do something for yourself. Or vent more! I know that can help too, thats why we're all on this list. Other list members: Just an update.......I did some venting a while back about my personal life..........My husband and I have reconciled and are in marriage counseling, things are going well. Thanks for being here for me. Be well. Trish

Hi Randi, I don't know what the difference would be strength wise of oral and indictable Mtx. 7.5 mg would be a low starting dose for oral, not sure about the other. For me it took several months to start to work, but it is a gradual chance. In other words I noticed that the " jumping around " of the arthritis slowed and the stopped and then the joints were not as affected. The joints that had been previously affected still had damage to them so they will never function properly, but at least new joints did not get hurt. Guest guest
Randi -- I started with 7.5mg MTX (oral) with 1 mg folic acid and upped the MTX one pill each six weeks. There was no big breakthru. It just started getting better when AI was up to six pills. I have been stable on eight per week now for two years and feeling better than I have for years. --- Hang in there - It does work. Guest guest
Trish, I had read the archives and was wondering if you were doing okay. The stress makes the PA so much worse. I'm glad you are still on this list. Take care, Pat Eufaula, Alabama
Guest guest
I fully agree will . You have to give Mtx a chance to kick in. It does work, especially with the Psoriasis, and my joint movement is better. It will never be the same as the damage is done but does take the edge off of the pain. Guest guest
Good morning darling Dede: We are not getting any mail, and I wonder what is going on. How are you today? We hope that you have the happiest day ever. Last night we had the worst storm, our poor little cats ran into the closet, because they were so afraid. The thunder was awful, but today it looks as if there was no storm. Did you see my ultrasound results? We are not happy about this, but my doctor will try to have a soft tissue MRI done a lttle later on. Today, will be writing to our daughter, and this is frightening. We hope that she will be willing to put the past where it belongs...in the past. Sending love to you sweet Dede....Lea and Superman ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~```` Re: Hello Goodmorning Sweet Lea ~ I am good this morning, I tell ya Sandy got me laughing this morning with the boy scouts ! LOL......Tell Superman that all that hard work this morning helping you with the NF pine, was quite stimulating for you.........let his imagination take off with that one......... I know healing with your daughter would make your heart so happy. I pray this happens for you all soon. Love you both ! Dede Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL.com. Guest guest
Goodmorning Sweet Lea ~ and Manly Man Superman ~ I have been in bed. I am not feeling the best. I have been having pain in my chest and upper back. Almost feels like upper lobe pneumonia. I am not sure what it is. I have a big headache, and body ache today, but I will get thru it. Have you all recovered from your big storm? I think we are gonna have weather here too. I always feel punky when the barometric pressure is going wild. It gets better as the pressure does. Strange deal, it is ! I saw your ultrasound results, and that is rediculous. They should just go in and do the surgery based on pain. None of those tests are conclusive anyway. None of the surgeries I had, matched the MRI's or x-rays or mammograms I had ! ! It was always very nasty inside. I think the fibrotic tissue somehow masks things as well as silicone is clear, so it doesnt show up either.......never did on me, and I had many silicone filled things removed ! So, I pray that someone with great skill removes all the toxins from you ! It is a shame Dr Blias doesnt do surgery, or have a surgical team he works with. With all the people that are ill from all types of implants, I am surprised someone hasnt opened up a clinic to specifically take care of people injured by these devices. They could make a killing, while possibly saving a life ! ! God Bless you in your venture with your Daughter. You are all in my prayers. Sending you lots of love and support ! Guest guest
My Dearest Cyber-Mom, Lea, just a quick note to let you know I'm doing fine. I'm just taking every bit of energy I have into healing. Keeping you in my prayers for healing physically and with your daughter. Guest guest
Honey, please keep up the good work. This is your time, and it takes time to heal, sometimes it takes a long time. Do all of the happy things that you could not do before, but nothing strenuous. Prowler will help you to get well, this is well documented that people who have animals get better faster. My daughter has not responded yet. Sending love and prayers to you...your cyber mom and Supeman ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~``````````````````` Re: Hello> > > > Goodmorning Sweet Lea ~ > I am good this morning, I tell ya Sandy got me laughing thismorning with the boy scouts !
