Guest guest
I have a girlfriend on antidepressants. She feels that they have saved her life.....as so many others have stated also....saw Terry Bradshaw the other night on TV...his story about despression.... This really burns me. EVERYONE at SOME TIME in THEIR LIVES feels depressed. Everyone wants quick fixes. TIME HEALS. If something is wrong in your life...do something to CHANGE IT. Antidepressants only make people feel numb....the world could crash and it wouldn't matter. Because we are a society that wants instant gratification and quick fixes....people run to their doctors for prescriptions to " make it all better " . Life is not easy...as we all know. Our lives on this earth merely prepare us for our final destination. We all have been through many trials and tribulations. It is how we handle them that prepares us for something better. Life isn't about us...it is about the lives we can touch along the way. If we, though our experiences can teach one person about the horrors of these mind altering drugs....we have done a very good deed. Guest guest
Clinical depression is not the same as the kind of normal depression most people face a few times in their lives. With this said, I don't believe that SSRIs are the way to handle it. I think nutritional supplements: zinc, calcium, magnesium and b vitamins plus therapy is the way to go because it's not worth it to become addicted to SSRIs or the often permanent brain changes that they cause. > I have a girlfriend on antidepressants.
