Hi Kim,

What kind of dialations is your GI doing?  Are they the balloon dialation or

just the kind that stretches out your esophagus, because if they are just

stretching out your E, those may be worse over time.  The last thing you need

is

the E being stretched out, MHO.  The balloon dilitation is what they usually do

for achalasia patients, most GI's are not understanding achalasia and treatments

for it.  I had a GI that would stretch my e out and wanted to do it monthly,

thank God I didn't let him do that for very long. 

Glad that you are moving forward and looking for an experienced type GI and/or

surgeon so that you can get some REAL help.  Take care!!!

dialation from my gastro Dr. it helped a little, got to eat some gumbo last

nite. but woke up early with food out the mouth.Guess i got a little too happy

i have a fungus in my E, so taking meds for that. I take donnatal every 4 hours

and dicyclomine same x's .. i take AcipHex 2x a day. every morning i have foam.

The practitioner inthe one who chooses if the client will participate or not. When I first started doing NFB I worked with Care children and to ask them to sitand watch inferior graphics displayed on a screen was just not reality!!! I felt I could not compete with their GameBoys, and computer systems and they were bored, bored, bored!!! I then tried it without the visual and now only use the auditory and it works the same. I have not found any difference in the training time. However, I will tell you this... I use other forms of training that I believe has decreased the amount of training times for a client. BFB, AVE, Alpha-Stim, BAUD, among iPod Apps that pertain to different areas of the brain.So as far as making a client sit and watch a screen thinking that they need it for feedback is not accurate but they MUST be able to hear it!!! Oh yeah funny story-well not funny maybe-I had an intern come in from out of country and she was very discourged with NFb as it didn't seem to be working for her son. She had placed several calls to Pete and with me as well, etc. Anyways in one of our many conversations during her stay it was discovered that she had turned off the annoying clicking noise that was coming from the computer during her sons training!!! We both had a good laugh and I had forgotten all about it until your question!!!

She's being creative on how to get around and play. Sometimes she's frustrated, other times she isn't. This evening we took her to the park and she was incredible! I couldn't believe how well she got around. Once we got home she is very tuckered out and just wants to cuddle.

I almost cried when she asked for a shower after the park but she accepted our "no, not with the cast it can't get wet" answer.

It does get better!!!

I was in that exact situation in 2005. Nothing would go down, including water.

Every so often my E would let a little water in and it was so refreshing. Had

my Hellers in Feb of 2005....now I remedy H2o as often as I can!

Kim, I found that things that were cold would start the spasms, meaning it would

shut the e down and that warm things would relax, after the myotomy, the cold or

cooler things I could then drink or eat.

When daughter was 4 & son was 7 we started them on 6.25 mgs of Iodoral. When my son got to 8 he went up to 12.5 mgs. My daughter moved to 12.5 mgs at 8 as well. When my son reached 9 we found out he was toxic in bromide (through iodine loading test with bromide levels) so we upped him to 25 mgs and he has been there since (now 11 1/2 yrs old). My 9 yr old daughter is still on 12.5 mgs.

No I have not seen what you describe. What else are you giving them? Less than one drop really should not have any effect on them.
