Guest guest
Danne girl, I know how it is believe me. I too walked away from shooting coke, also methamphetamine & the big H. Walked away from booze - no problemo but the smokes have got me in their clutches. I quit about 3 years ago for a little over 6 months & foolishly thought I could do it again as easily as that time. I've been trying again for about the past two years - I really can't afford them. They're also one of the co-morbidity's the t p docs worry about. If I get to the place where I need a t p they might not be able to operate what with the smoking, the diabetes & the fat.(I really hate the word obese, I'm fat. 250 lbs and 5' 9") I'm working on the smoking again - I've had three cigs since Wednesday. Want a quitting buddy? Sometimes that helps, you can bitch to each other about the trouble the smokes give you. By the way, I started smoking at 14 & I'm 56 now so it's been over 40 years. Good Luck to both of us, SuZie & Sir SpYke - who leaves the room when she lights up. You'd think the message would've got through by now. Next time I'm coming back as a cat Re: Re: (unknown) Del You Are A Wonderful Man, In Case I Had Never ToldYa! Ty For The Prayers(esp The Not Knowin Ya PartHaha) And Thank You For The Support. Guest guest
I have been off work now a year.On Dec. 31 my boss called me and wanted me to stop by. He told me that I may be terminated if I didn't have my OS fill out a form that would keep me on the payroll. I did get approved till 3/1. My OS stated that I could return to work only at a desk job and 3-4 hrs a day. Quess what my location of work doesn't have just office work. If I return to work I have to return to the job I had. Which is standing for 6-7 hrs a day. I can't even do 15 min. With my disablity insurance I had to apply for SSD. Been turned down twice, now my insurance has appointed a law firm from land to fight the appeal. Now It wait and see. The last few days I been having trouble with my right hip. It the same side that I'm trouble with my TKR and revision.Shirley (unknown) ---There is the Americans with Disabilities Act. Go on the internet and look up the Wage and Hour Division. Get that toll-free number and call them and tell them what is going on and ask them how to handle it. They will have a toll-free number for the office closest to your area for you to call. There are 12 weeks of Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) in which your employer cannot fire you. You will need to get forms for your Dr to fill out, but I wouldn't do that right away. Take a Medical Leave first, and then if you think it's going to be more than 12 weeks off work, have the Dr fill out the FMLA forms. Isn't there a clause in your contract that covers you when on a medical leave or if you have restrictions? I was on restrictions for a couple years BEFORE my hip resurfacing and I had to take a lower paying position but at least I kept my job. Do you have a physically demanding job? If not, I wouldn't think there would be any restrictions as long as you don't have to twist your body etc. I would definitely look into having a resurfacing. There are firemen, policemen, karate experts, marathon runners, surfers, bikers, hockey players, dancers and all manner of physically active people who are living their lives the way they did before they started having hip problems. Plus you don't have all the restrictions you do with a THR. Go here and read and ask lots of questions. I am only 35 and will never be able to find another $50,000 a year job with all health insurance paid for my family in my condition. I just do not know what to do anymore now and time is running out for me to make my decision. I only have 26 weeks of temp disability paid also then my income will drop to $0 if I am not back to work then. And even with the disability I am taking a huge cut in weekly wages. Guest guest
Dear , You are doing fine I gained all my weight back went for a fill that did not take and 3 weeks after that went for another fill mean while I am able to eat like a normal person I was so discourged, but I am happy to report that I have lost 40 lbs and continue to do so. My scale moves slow but thats ok it took me a while to get like this. Hang in there you will be amazed after your fill. Dawn Mc
Guest guest
--- Also, scales are tricky, no two read the same and daytime weight and morning weight are worlds apart. For myself I weigh on avarage 4-5 pounds heaveier daytime weight. I had hernia repair surgery a few days ago and the day after I was 8 pounds heaveier. ( I just went straight back to bed) Next day it was gone. Any how, what your friends are saying is this. Your early in the challange, make it yours, Hang on to what willpower you have in you, get that fill soon as you can, Stick to your personal scale, morning weight. The great thing about the band is that when it is filled it will work. You also need to change your thinking and quit being so hard on yourself. This phase isn't designed for weight loss anyway. > > , if I was this hard on you about a 10# weight gain you would likely look at me and tell me to buggar off. And rightfully so! Perhaps you should tell the part of your personality that is being so judgemental - to buggar off. Relax, wait for a fill before worrying about weight gain. You are doing great. Besides, if you don't quit being so hard on yourself, when we go to lunch we'll all have to take turns smacking you upside the head for not waiting for the band to work as it is supposed to AFTER a fill. ;o) > > The difference is amazing when the band is functioning as it should. Guest guest
Excellent post, Craig. What you have said is so true! It's what is in our heads that causes us a lot of our probems (and always has, I guess) but the band does buy us time to learn new behaviors. I also agree that the support given on this site is worth a lot of moeney if I had to have counseling as required in order to get the band in the US! And also it is priceless for those of us who live in small communities where we might be the only banded person. Thanks for your insights. It is also not helping that I keep getting negative feedback from family and friends that I have already lost enough and I should just be happy and not worry about it. That simply isn’t true. I have run into this before. I still need to lose at least 50 Lbs. I keep pretty good track of what I eat and do so if I am fully honest it is no secret to see why I am not losing. I am “good” 80% of the time but that other 20% can undo everything. That is the 20% that needs the attention. In the end, though, it is true that by losing what I have already lost I am more likely to have the time to learn and get where I need to be. The issue is way more complicated than this and has to do with what we have been conditioned to think, ie this is our fault, no will power, etc as much as it has to do with the physical and hereditary aspects. As hard as it is to keep up with the gigantic volume of posts I think it is essential to do so. The reinforcement provided by this group is easily one of the most therapeutic treatments you can get J It also helps to remind ourselves that this is not a race and that it takes the time it takes to remedy both the physical and the psychological issues. Hang in there and learn. Guest guest
I personally detected it two times since my daughters. Diagnosis and both times by accident. My daughter was in our front Family room, the sun came in the room just right and the pupil had a distortion to it. I called and they got me in that next day. She was in a flare. Second time unlike the first time. Aubrey was swimming without goggles as she always did and her left eye only was very red.....No pain no nothing. I took a pin light out to check her pupils and she screamed when the light hit her left eye. I again called and again inflammation. That is our experience. It is very rare to be able to detect a thing. My ped. Opt told me mothers know best... Terri And Aubrey (unknown) has anyone actually seen symptoms of the eye inflammation? Guest guest
Hi, Killing yeast is not enough. It's excreta after toasting is still toxic. Mycotoxins. Avoidance is the solution as per Dr. 's manual. Don't ask Who is Dr. . MM DOREEN TABOR wrote: > I read somewhere that Ezekiel's bread was O.k. on this diet but when I read the ingredients at the store there was fresh yeast in it ?! Anyone have input on this? Guest guest
Yeast is well proven as a health food, fungal mycotoxins are not produced by yeast, and alcohol, a product of yeast, is not a mycotoxin. While we're discussing 's advice on bowel health we should note that her oversights with regard to bowel health indicate to me that this realm of biology is foreign to her; see the explanation on my inulin page: http://tinyurl.com/2m29z My page points out that avoidance of a large part of the methanol toxicity highlighted by would normally involve correcting bowel dysbiosis, but doing so conspicuously absent from the manual. Guest guest
Hi, If you read Dr. 's manual carefully, she has given pictures of mold growth on bread & do caution that the excreta is very toxic, even after toasting. She suggests baking your own bread & eat within 2hrs. Guest guest
I agree there can be mold on bread, but mold is a fungus, not yeast. There can well be mycotoxins in stale bread or mouldy anything, but the yeast and the nutrients are NOT to blame for the mold. My perspective on mycotoxins is that we've been exposed to them and worse since time began and we're fairly resistant, just like the other animals are. I would caution people to avoid an obsessive response like that exhibited by many people who have read 's work. Guest guest
Hi, I have twin boys age 6, diagnosed with high functioning autism. We live in Louisville. You are not alone, here is a web site Families for Effective Autism Treatment of Louisville www.featoflouisville.org. They have an email tree. You can ask any member for help regarding treatment, services and schools. I wish you well. Eydie Eydie ( ) (unknown) HELLO!!! I posted my first message at work today and I'm still not really sure what I'm doing!!! This is my first online chat group. Long story short.......Will is 6 1/2. He's always been " peculiar " . For the last 6 years, I've honestly thought I had no business being a mother and that I had spoiled or warped my son terribly! Then I had Sam (who is now 1). From the time Sam could communicate he was different than Will, " more social " I used to say. Long story short.......my dearest friend in the entire world and the grace of God opened my eyes to Asperger's Syndrome. From the first minute I read about it, I knew that was Will. I just found out Monday from the school that he qualified for special services under the Autism Spectrum. We are going to Louisville (I live in KY) in March for an official diagnosis. It's been so nice reading all of your comments and hearing stories about children that are like Will!!!! I hope to talk to all of you soon. ( I think my screen name will be Rex. That's what Will wants his name to be since he IS a T-REX you know!!! ) --------------------------------- Need a quick answer? Get one in minutes from people who know. Ask your question on Answers. Guest guest
LOL!!! I had Scooby Doo living with me for about 3 wks!!!!! LOL!!!!!! My son is 6 (TS, ADHD, OCD, and possible AS) we are still working on a dx for As. The docs aren't sure because he only shares one " characteristic " with As patients. And it is not a dx criteria, but most AS people have it. They would like to do further testing. Although we don't have a dx so much that I hear on this group sounds like my son!!!! And regradless if he does or not, I have learned coping skills and more importantly that I am not alone!!!!! I don't always respond here, because I don't always have something to say, but I do learn a lot! Welcome " Rex " ! Blessings! Allcock <jallcock105@...> wrote: HELLO!!! Guest guest
Alli, I am having the same problem that you are having. I have 2 cc in my band and no restriction and I also have the gurgling/ growling sounds. I have had 4 fills and going for #5 the 25th. I lost so good in the first few weeks but have been banded since May and not losing now. When you find out what the problem is please let me know Shirley Thanks I also keep the hiccups.Alli Dye <allygator1963@...> wrote: Hi all, Well I have 2.4 cc and no restriction yet. What I do have though is a lot of gurgling/ growling sounds coming up my throat when I eat. It sounds like aliens have invaded my body and are coming up for air or something!!! And if that isn't enough of a side show while having lunch, I topped that off with a mean case of the hiccups that lasted 4/ever!!! LOL Any advice on what is causing this and how to avoid it???
