And you work for WF, so you have a heart! BTW, my anyasgarden site

got hits from WF headquarters in Austin recently ;-)

What essences do you need? Most of the suppliers in the Guild sell

small amounts. I'd buy from them, myself, heck, I do! But of course,

lol. We all get a discount, too.

Well, I just went ahead and ordered some rose and liquid ambar from Eden right

after I wrote that entry. I didn't think about mentioning my NP affiliation,

though.

My Whole Foods has some essences and I do usually get some from work, both

because it's completely convenient and, well, my discount! But Sherwyns had a

wonderful selection of unusual oils, and their vitamin selection was tops. It

was more of a hard-core health-food place, whereas I've always seen WF as a

gourmet kind of place with a healthful emphasis. In fact, I would usually send

hard-core health folks there! Unfortunately, I didn't frequent Sherwyns as much

as I could have. Like Marshall Fields, they were a Chicago institution, having

been here so long, you just figure that they will always be there. Its true

that you don't appreciate things till they are gone.

Hi Becky,

It should still be sweet but not like when you first put it in. If you wait

until all sweetness is gone, you made wine.

I wouldn't turn any water grains loose until I had over a cup. The more in

the jar the faster they multiply.

Some medications can cause digestive problems after a period of time. Such as

Motrin and anti inflamatory type drugs. Keep on top of the stomach problems, I

have a hiatel hernia, which has been good up to recently. Now I'm back to the

Dr. again hoping I don't need surgury. I have found that diet is very important,

especially if you are taking any prednisone. It puts the weight on you. I also

think that everyone is different as far as food tolerations go.

I can not eat high acid foods like oranges, lemons yet can eat tomatoes.

Greasy food is real bad and yes very spicy foods I stay totally away from. Eat

as healthy as you can, it does help, along with the exercise. I've been through

alot with my RA, and take alot of meds. Hope things get better for you. Jean

Moist hot compresses should draw it out... it is toxins leaving your body... Turmeric -- Turmeric taken internally can help dissolve and heal boils in as little as three days. It has anti-inflammatory and blood purifying effects on the body. Just take one teaspoon of turmeric powder in warm water three times a day or buy turmeric in capsule form and take at least 450 mg each day. You can also make a paste out of the turmeric powder and place it directly on the boil and cover it with gauze. Be careful as turmeric can stain your skin and your clothes. The stain on your skin will go away in about two weeks. Tea Tree Oil -- Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic that is able to help in the healing of all kinds of skin problems. All you have to do is apply one drop of tea tree oil directly on the boil each morning after bathing until it's gone. Castor Oil -- Put some Castor oil on a cotton ball and place it on the boil. You will need to secure it with gauze or a band-aid. Castor oil will draw the poison right out of the boil and can heal it in as little as two days. There is an OTC product called Boil-Eze that works really well for boils.

I used to use that and it really does work fast. Now I make poultices of bentonite clay to draw out boils.

I have to say today I feel like a bad bandster I know the time between the first fill is the time to heal but I was at the Doctors office yesterday and stepped on the scale I don't know why!! I wont even step on my own scale right now, but I gained 10 of my 35lb loss back I go in on the 30th for my first fill I wish it was today. The Holidays and 4 birthdays in the last two weeks has done me in. One of the reasons I got the band is that a year ago the 23rd I was in a bad accident that dropped me 25 feet off the side of a mountain in a concrete truck I can say I was being watched out for walking away from that but I did receive a nice back and rib injury I am trying to say NO to a second back surgery. But this stops me from doing the heavy workouts that you all are able to do I do what I can. I need to get back on track this weight is not doing my back any good I look at the band as the secret to my recovery. Anyway don't kn why im babiling on you all are my support and I feel like im messing up here thanks..

.... I'm not sure you are really being fair to yourself. Let's face reality here, we ALL got a band because we couldn't do it on our own. You haven't even had a fill, your band isn't even functioning yet. Honestly, I wouldn't fret over it unless your band is filled appropriately and you are finding ways to work around it. You aren't doing that. Just relax and quit being so hard on yourself. The great thing about the band is that when it is filled it will work. You also need to change your thinking and quit being so hard on yourself. So what... you gained a few pounds during the HEALING phase. But you have also lost 25lbs! This phase isn't designed for weight loss anyway. , if I was this hard on you about a 10# weight gain you would likely look at me and tell me to buggar off. And rightfully so! Perhaps

you should tell the part of your personality that is being so judgemental - to buggar off. Relax, wait for a fill before worrying about weight gain. You are doing great. Besides, if you don't quit being so hard on yourself, when we go to lunch we'll all have to take turns smacking you upside the head for not waiting for the band to work as it is supposed to AFTER a fill. ;o) The difference is amazing when the band is functioning as it should. It's just something you have to experience before it really sinks in that the weight WILL come off when you get a fill. The reality is

that YOU are the secret to your recovery. The band is a tool. I know it sounds

a little trite but you need to keep reminding yourself that you have already

taken the biggest step and now your job is to LEARN. Beating your self up,

while a common pastime, is not as productive as it could be. In my opinion the

band buys us time to relearn a lifetime of habits and misconceptions. It took

me over 50 years to get here and I’m pretty sure its going to take the

rest of my life to correct the situation. Not being pessimistic just aware that

the issues are large and deeply embedded. I have been fighting my own similar daemons

lately. I weigh almost exactly the same as I did at my second fill, in October.

I gained back 7 during the holidays and I have only just now shed them. I know

I should get a fill but I keep stalling and hanging the blame on my inability

to overcome the problems without the aid of the band. How dumb is that? The

band is a tool I have chosen and I really should use it to its fullest

advantage. It is also not helping that I keep getting negative feedback from

family and friends that I have already lost enough and I should just be happy

and not worry about it. That simply isn’t true. I have run into this

before. I still need to lose at least 50 Lbs. I keep pretty good track of what

I eat and do so if I am fully honest it is no secret to see why I am not

losing. I am “good” 80% of the time but that other 20% can undo

everything. That is the 20% that needs the attention. In the end, though, it is

true that by losing what I have already lost I am more likely to have the time

to learn and get where I need to be. The issue is way more complicated than

this and has to do with what we have been conditioned to think, ie this is our

fault, no will power, etc as much as it has to do with the physical and hereditary

aspects. As hard as it is to keep up with the gigantic volume of posts I think

it is essential to do so. The reinforcement provided by this group is easily one

of the most therapeutic treatments you can get J It also helps to remind

ourselves that this is not a race and that it takes the time it takes to remedy

both the physical and the psychological issues. Hang in there and learn.

Beating your self up, while a common pastime, is not as productive as it could be. In my opinion the band buys us time to relearn a lifetime of habits and misconceptions. It took me over 50 years to get here and I’m pretty sure its going to take the rest of my life to correct the situation. Not being pessimistic just aware that the issues are large and deeply embedded. I have been fighting my own similar daemons lately. I weigh almost exactly the same as I did at my second fill, in October. I gained back 7 during the holidays and I have only just now shed them. I know I should get a fill but I keep stalling and hanging the blame on my inability to overcome the

problems without the aid of the band. How dumb is that? The band is a tool I have chosen and I really should use it to its fullest advantage. It is also not helping that I keep getting negative feedback from family and friends that I have already lost enough and I should just be happy and not worry about it. That simply isn’t true. I have run into this before. I still need to lose at least 50 Lbs. I keep pretty good track of what I eat and do so if I am fully honest it is no secret to see why I am not losing. I am “good” 80% of the time but that other 20% can undo everything. That is the 20% that needs the attention. In the end, though, it is true that by losing what I have already lost I am more likely to have the time to learn and get where I need to be. The issue is way more complicated than this and has to do with what we have been conditioned to think, ie this is our fault, no will power, etc as much as it has to do with the physical and hereditary aspects. As hard as

it is to keep up with the gigantic volume of posts I think it is essential to do so. The reinforcement provided by this group is easily one of the most therapeutic treatments you can get J It also helps to remind ourselves that this is not a race and that it takes the time it takes to remedy both the physical and the psychological issues. Hang in there and learn. The Holidays and 4 birthdays in the last two weeks has done me in. One of the reasons I got the band is that a year ago the 23rd I

was in a bad accident that dropped me 25 feet off the side of a mountain in a concrete truck I can say I was being watched out for walking away from that but I did receive a nice back and rib injury I am trying to say NO to a second back surgery. But this stops me from doing the heavy workouts that you all are able to do I do what I can. I need to get back on track this weight is not doing my back any good I look at the band as the secret to my recovery. , please don't be discouraged. There are days when all of us feel down.

With your back injury, can you swim at the YMCA that would not stress your

back? If you can walk without discomfort that may also help. Staionery

bicycle? Take it easy and heal. We didn't gain it all in one week so it is

going to be slow for some time. Craig's comments were so on point. I used

to could (and probably still could) diet all week to reverse every step of

progress with a great weekend of dining out and drinking with friends. I am

just back where I was before the holidays. I have a renewed commitment to

stay on my program. I am finally trying to commit to a regular exercise

schedule. I have not been faithful with exercise. I am walking more,

drinking more water and watching what I eat. I have scheduled my second

fill for February to give me some time to stay on program before the next

fill. I know that I need one because while there are days I can't eat alot,

most days in the evening, I can eat a regular meal--less than I used to--but

more than I should at one sitting. Intellectually, I know this is not good.

My tool is at the ready for my help. Only subsequent to receiving my band

have I realized that I was experiencing head hunger. Boy is that a hard

concept to accept. I find that I still serve myself as I always have. AT

least now I am leaving food on the plate--don't tell my mother because she

always told me about those starving kids in China--Ha Ha!

Keep your chin up. Tomorrow is a new day and we are all in better condition

than prior to our banding. Have a great weekend, clear your head, and enjoy

the day!

Hi d. Good for you. I have about 5 friends that have done the process and they are really happy with the results. No problems to speak of, and would do it again if needed. Your brave to do this, and I BELIEVE you can do whatever it is you want to do. Cigs are a nasty habit..I had it for thirty years or so, but decided (with God's help) to quit...concentrate on other things and I've been good to go for three years. Seriousy, Drinking, Smoking and Food are the hardest things I had to kick in my life. FOOD first....#1 it's everywhere, they even have free deals at some of the places you can get it!! and the ultimate advertised right on the radio and in Papers, Come on IN!! Were friendly!! ALL YOU CAN EAT for just $5.99. How could anyone say NO? Necessary to live, accepted by even the prudest of people that still think like

Neandrathals. No one says....look at him... he's getting food and probably gonna' eat it with two foxy chicks in his car.. and look at what time it is!! why do they need food at 3:00 AM? We do it right out in public, in front of everyone..... and it all actuality, it could be killing us...... However, BOOZE/ DOPE/ and now cigs are not as accepted, so you have to hide, get a little paranoid someone is watching you... confirming to your inner self it;s not right and therefore making it a little easier to quit. BABY....YOU CAN DO IT!! Halls Mentholyptis cough drops gave me a Strong FORGET ABOUT IT FOR AWHILE FEELING. I'll pray for you, and ask God not to hold it against you that you know me....hahahah Del dannegrl <dannegrl2003@...> wrote: Slideshow | Print at Home | Order Prints | Save to: My Photos or My Computer Click a photo to view a larger version on Photos. See links above for more options. Deb I had to give up someone to get out... They already had a huge file on you!!!! lol. They said only person man

enough to take you in refused to haul in his mom..Said he knows better than messing with you.... lol ok I had to pick on ya. All went well. Because I have such a history of depression, the dr said I will probably need counseling after surg. I will call Dr B's office (baritric surgeon) Monday to find out what the next step is. They have my medical records, Monday they will have a psych eval. I am not sure if they have submitted a request for approval from medicare yet. I understood them to say they do that after they get the eval and required records. Ok to everyone that is lost, I will explain.... I am VERY obese. I have been on tx 2 times with no real svr. When I last seen my hep dr he said I can't treat my hep c again until I lose weight. He recommended looking into Gastric bypass. I had been looking at it but had not decided to go for it till he said that. To fight my hep I have to lose weight. OK so I have since seen a

bariatric surgeon to get the process started. I have had all the tests requested so far. Now I have to stop smoking. The surgeon will not touch me if I am still smoking. I am a high risk patient as it is. Smoking increases risks. And it is a risk I can remove. I'm not willing to let my liver go down with out a fight. This is the steps I have to take to fight to live. Surgery scares me but dying is not in my list of options... We each have our own path to navigate. how we chose to handle that is up to each of us. love, d dannella The larger versions of these photos will
