Mimi,

You are following a path of healing that is right on target--meaning that it has been about 6 weeks since explant, and as predicted, your symptoms seem worse. That is the experience of so very many women. I experienced it...in fact I got new symptoms that I didn't have before--namely muscle twitching and a creepy cold feeling going up my leg, as well as swollen lymph nodes in my neck, and a stiffness in my neck on the right side that lasted for probably 2 years. I am so happy to say that ALL of that is gone now! I have no more symptoms at all!

My blood work also got worse after explant. I was explanted in February (1998), blood tested in April which showed an elevated rheumatoid factor and by August the rheumatoid factor was even higher. I was so bummed, because I had thought I would see it start to go down. The healing curve is not what we would expect it to be after explant. You just seem to be fitting into the pattern, so I do hope you can be encouraged by this, because if you keep following the pattern that and and so many others have, including me, you will get better!

Please don't be so discouraged. I know this illness makes life seem unbearable and not worth living for. I was suicidal several times, and just cried and cried because I thought I was not getting better fast enough. It was a few steps forward, a few steps back. It was maddening. It was frustrating. But once I gave it all up to God and said okay God, you are in control here, I am just going to take care of my body with the foods you gave us and rely on you instead of the doctors, my frustration lessened, I felt peace, and I just trusted that God was going to heal me. And he has. It took alot longer than I thought it would, but I am healed. I knew I had to detox, that made the most sense to me out of anything. The allopathic doctors seemed to have no clue as to how to treat my symptoms, other than to prescribe toxic drugs, and I chose not to take any toxic drugs at all. The only thing I found help for was my thyroid condition that was diagnosed 4 years after explant, by a homeopathic MD. I slowly healed and today I can give thanks to God for all He has done for me, including healing me spiritually first. I love Him more today than I ever have in my life because I have seen and known His amazing grace in my life. He is pure and utter joy to me.

Mimi, I'm praying for you! Trust God. And knowing you were explanted by Dr. Feng, you can be confident that she got everything out that needed to come out, leaving nothing behind that could hurt you. Please be patient as your body recovers, and write to us anytime you feel the need to vent.

Hi,

At least you caught him relatively early. You sound like a wonderful

mom. He is blessed to have you!

My son exhibited a lot of the same behaviors your son did. He knew his

alphabet, numbers thru 20, shapes and colors by the age of 2. We were

so thrilled that we had a " child prodigy " . He was an only child at the

time, so we didn't notice any of the other Aspie behaviors. We didn't

even know what Asperger's Syndrome was!

As time went on, we realized that he was having trouble with

disseminating language and relating to others. Very little eye contact

(where there used to be some). Very little affection to anyone but me.

We had no idea what was going on. And, our first pediatrician was

clueless, God bless him.

After 4 pediatricians and two psychologists, and 7 years...we heard the

word 'AUTISM'. Yes, I was scared to death. There are still days I cry

and cry. And, I get mad. And, I want to hurt someone (the whole

thimerosal thing). But then, I realize that my son is a blessing. He

is amazing! He is such an incredible artist! Yes, he tries our

patience. And gets on our last nerves. And, no...we don't have many

friends because we have so many ignorant people around us. We hear

the.... " if he was my kid, he'd NEVER act like that! " Or, " I don't

understand why you don't just let him run around and play with the other

kids....isn't he normal? " But, it just weeds out the riff-raff (lol)!

But, God only gives you what you can handle. One day....and, that day

will come...you'll wake up and that pain will be replaced with a

strength and acceptance. I know....I've sooo been there. And, I'm

still there. That's why I'm here with you now.

Thought I would tell everyone a bit more about myself. In addition to my son

Eidan 3 1/2, I have a one year old daughter ... who - during the last year

- made it even more crystal clear to us, that Eidan was different.

Another interesting piece of trivia ;0) The pediatrician told us that having one

parent (or close relative) in an engineering or accounting profession increased

the chance of having a child on the spectrum. I'm a computer engineer

(programmer). Hmmm....

My son's recent fascination is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom - has anyone seen this

video? He found the book at school, and fell in love with it. It is a book

about personified alphabet characters going up a coconut tree..and then the all

fall down. I bought the video online - it was delivered on Friday - and

needless to say - its been a Chicka chicka boom boom kinda holiday. We watched

it 10 times the first day it arrived.!!! Im now trying to limit his chick

intake ;0)

Oh no my husband is an accountant, my uncle is in engineering and my

brother is in the finance business. But I do not believe my husband has AS at

all,

my uncle defiantly has it but is undiagnosed. And my brother I think must be

Hi, your son sounds a lot like my Noah. He didn't point til much

later either. The arrival of our daughter Emilie last year made

Noah's differentness crystal clear for us too.

Noah fed his Chicka Chicka Boom Boom DVD to the DVD player last

year. I'm sure the player enjoyed it, but the DVD never came back!

My clinic gives people a recipe for deodorized garlic: at the first sense

of a problem, start 5 capsules 5 times/day for 3 days. It will usually stop

it in its tracks. If the problem persists, an additional 3 days will temper

its expression and shorten its course.

Where are you from in New England. Dr. Ted Mason is an otologist at BMC in Springfield MA. He sees patients from upper NY state, VT, Western Ma and northern Ct. That is who my son sees and he is highly qualified.

Penny, If you truly have PA I think you are fortunate that your doc is well

versed on the subject. I was lucky that I was diagnosed correctly so early.

Some of the horror stories about those who were diagnosed incorrectly are

heartbreaking. I was amazed to find out that my small town GP was treating 3

patients with PA, myself and two others. He never mentioned the others to me

but it is such a small town that I found out quite by chance.

My scanner is in a storage shed. I put it in there while my house was up for sale. Since I moved into this house in July (almost August), you'd think I'd have the storage shed emptied by now wouldn't you...
