I just want to let everyone know why I haven't been out here... I have

been really sick but that is not the reason.... My older sister suffered

a heart attack on the 13th....She was rushed in for a 5 bypass

surgery.... Something happened during or after surgery but she ruptured

something inside and they took her back to surgery 4 hrs. later. She

totally bled out and had to be transfused. She suffered brain damage and

was put on life support...She had a living will so we had them disconect

yesterday... She is breating some on her own but they said she would do

this... She can live up to a week like this but she is so brain damaged

that she won't come out of it. They have her on Morphine so she isn't

suffering. It is just so draining sitting there talking to her and

hoping for a miracle... The nuerosurgeon checked her again to see if

there was any hope before we let them disconnect but there was nothing.

This is our curse of our rare bleeding dsorder..... It is so

heartbreaking to sit and watch someone knowing any second could be their

last breath.... I have a hr. drive and have been sitting there day and

night with her son.... My nephew.... I just went thru this wth my friend

in December....... Please pray for my sister Miriam to make this

transition without suffering.... I will update when I can.... I miss all

of you... I have not been able to read any e-mail.... Hope everyone is

ok.....

Angel Hugs,

Diane

Terri: You hold a speacil place in my prayers. Sometimes I feel

guilty about writing positive things because I dont understand why it

is not hard on me. Yes, I sometimes feel lethargic but I was entered

in a four hour cross country offroad motorcycle race this weekend and

actually finished. Wasnt trying to win, just finish. Hang in there.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I will be praying for your sister as well as her family and friends. My father went through a similar disorder, although his was caused by medication. They had him on coumadin to thin his blood and it became to thin. He bumped his head and by the time they realized something was wrong he was unconcious and brain damaged. We had them take him off of life support also. He only lived for an hour or so afterwards. My thoughts are with you in this difficult time. -dz-
