Addendum to Ralph's comments:

One of the ways the opposition can undermine our effectiveness is to spread

rumors about our allies that creates confusion and distracts us from

constructive action. There may be some who pose as allies, and allies who attack

other allies due to personal conflicts...so, it can be hard to tell who's who

sometimes. There are also those who mean well who unintentionally dissiminate

misinformation, adding even more to the confusion. Regretfully, these things

unavoidably complicate our tasks. Ultimately, though, people's actions speak for

themselves. Don't be dissuaded by isolated mistakes or individual events; watch

words and actions over time. Question "facts" that seem too good to be true, are

excessively emotional or sensationalized, are extreme or without credible and

verifiable sources, are inconsistent with prior assertions or trusted sources,

or that otherwise raise reasonable concerns. Scrutinze and discern; ask

questions, seek to verify.

Given the wide range of personalities and reasonable differences of opinion on

finer points that necessarily occur among such a diverse group as those under

the broad "health freedom" umbrella, conflicts are inevitable. But we need all

of us on all points where there is agreement, so it's critical to put aside

personal differences and to work together where necessary and possible.

Who is opposition or not may be unclear at times, but ultimately, the opposition

will not accompany us all the way to the finish line--the pro-active enactment

of state and federal legislation that serves the health freedom cause, and the

proactive opposition to legislation that threatens health freedom rights. Those

who try to distract you with other so-called "solutions" are likely either

misinformed or attempting to prevent you from engaging in effective solutions

(though raising awareness is a critical prerequisite, of course).

Rima seems particularly well-focused on the need to **act legislatively**--a

wise focus, since this is where many rights start or end. Many of our allies

have yet to acquire that focus. The alternative health community appears to be a

largely reactive community--quite understandably, but that isn't a very

effective place to be. We must transform from "reactive" to "proactive."

Awareness may be a critical starting point, but AWARENESS ALONE CHANGES

NOTHING.

Or, as a bumper sticker I saw just this past week put it:

YOUR SILENCE WILL NOT PROTECT YOU.

Rima got this a long time ago. That's not just an example to admire, it's one to

follow. I haven't agreed with

everything I've ever heard Rima say or do (nor most anyone else, for that

matter). But I'll support fully everything she says and does to protect and

expand health freedom that I do agree with. If Rima is paid opposition,

someone's not getting their money's worth.
