Guest guest
My son gets VERYy itchy and complains of uncontrollable inchiness during a yeast kill off when we change antifungal. I just try to keep is skin hydrated and sure enough it just stops when he has adjusted and is through his kill off. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I USE TOPICAL LAMISIL, FOR SAME SYMPTOMS. V. [] Itching I know I have read a few post's in tne past about this and some of the symptoms resembled mine but refrained from posting becuase I wasn't sure what I had and it didn't seem to be mold related and it was embarrasing. But I have had intense itching for the last 10 years that has centered around the anus. But what really is perplexing is that in the last few years the symptoms have spread out all over the body. I get tiny blisters on my ankles that look like little ant bites. I also would feal little fleas or mites crawling on my skin and biting. In my hair and on most parts of the body, head, back, arms, legs. They kept me busy scratching every day. I have heard others mention similar symptoms and their dr's just roll their eye's in the back of their head and think " nut job " or some more serious ones would suggest scabbies. I have researched all of the most likely possibiliteis and found no evidence: My main canidates were scabbies, body lice, and pin worms. But never found any evidence of these. Than the thought came what if it's some type of yeast or fungus. So based on this notion I went out and bought a aresol can of tinactin. Which of course is for athletes foot and jock itch. Both fungal conditions. I used this for a couple of weeks and my symptoms dropped 95 percent and the little crawlly things I was scratching all over my body have almost completly quit crawling and bitting. I would be very interested if anyone has had similar conditions front or back channel. Also if they try what I tried the degree of success in treating this condition. One note you might want to check with your dr first before using tinactin as I have prescribed. I only used it on the central location metioned above and the little blisters on my ankles and feet and it worked very well, definantly not a placeebo effect. I am flabergassed after all these years of itching and scrathing to have stumbled on this remedy.
Guest guest
> I knew I wasn't nut's but it's still nice to hear I am not the only one with this problem. I did read on some sight where a similar set of symptoms were prevelent in cfs sufferers. They wanted money for some product to treat it so I was dubious of the site. Have you been able to eradicate the problem? If no on a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate lamisil's effectivness? I am kind of stupid in hind sight not to think of this. But the crawling feeling made me sure it was some type of insect or worm. Symptoms don't fit infection at all. And what makes it exceedingly bizare is that it's not localized, the crawling and itching is all over your body! I never heard of lamisil, seen the comercials but didn't pay attention to the product becuase I don't have a toe nail problem. Seems to me the tinactin might be a better way to treat the condition seeing your not taking it internally, except via absorbtion though the skin. But a clear advantage is you can target the specific area. which means reduced expousures to the toxins that kill the fungus, yeast or insects or whatever it is. --- In , " " <toriaquilts@...> wrote: > > I USE TOPICAL LAMISIL, FOR SAME SYMPTOMS. > V. > >
Guest guest
I have heard bad things about lamisil. How about benedryl. You don't think it is shingles do you. Sometimes when I am itching I have put vinegar on my belly. For a woman maybe monistat cream. Sounds fungal related. Some foods make me itchy but the blisters are puzzling. I used to treat these areas by boiling water in a microwave dipping a paper towel in the water and feathering it over the affected area. It would immediately aliveate the itching and seemed to put the infection at bay for a week or so. Now having tried the tinactin I have gotten much better results. Never had any rashes on my belly though. I would think anything that is used systemically (orally taken) should be used with caution because you are not focusing the treatment in any one area which means more exposure as opposed to topical that is focused on the affected area. Thus less expousure to the toxins used to kill fungus.

I wish I would of posted back when this discusion was going on I think I got the impression than that you were using it but with limited success. I guess that's the pestimistic side of me, always looking at the cup half empty. Not listening carefully enough to others. I stoped using the tinactin after about two weeks and havent started back up and my symptoms are present but extreemly mild so I haven't started back up yet. My thinking is I want to use the same methodology as antibiotics where you don't bread resistance by stoping short of a complete kill. So switching may give me an added advantage here being I have probably bread some resistance to the tinactin.

Guest guest
The tip I got on this site has relieved me of all skin ailments- Lavender oil. It is extremly anti-fungal-better than perscriptions, and contains anti-bacterial properties also-candida on my body that i had for years is now totally gone-if I feel an itch-I apply it for a few days-. One caution-I have heard that it has an estrogenic effect-so should not be used on boys karen

I second 's recommendation for Lavender oil. It will likely cure you completely without any side effects. Be sure it is steem distilled and pure. No dilutions in other oils. There is one more essential oil which has even more powerful antifungal properties - Tagetes minuta oil. I wrote about it in the message number 50249 in this group. Guest guest
Are you allergic to Codiene? I was told that ultram or Tramadol has a cross sensitivity for many that are allergic codiene. I am allergic to condiene. I had been taking it off and on for about two years. And just recently did I have a reaction to Ultram. So I do not take it anymore. But itching and hives is the first symptom I got. Toni **************It's Tax Time! Get tips, forms and advice on AOL Money & Finance. Guest guest
Hi, I get the itchies with any hydrocodone derivitive...recently when i had condochondritis again!! i had vicodin, then i had something else for my cough, it was awful taking them, I itched so bad I wanted to rip my skin off. I took benadryl and that helped it some. I take Tramadol as needed and have no issues with it at all. Codiene makes me hyper normally, but this tramadol 50mg, at times doesn't even help me. I currently have a cyst at my wrist joint that hurts to my elbow to my pinky and have percocets...they are making me itchy, but not as bad as hyrdrocodone. Guest guest
Hi Jeanette! I spoke to my family doctor who prescribed the Ultram ER. When I first got FMS, it was the first pain medication prescribed to me. It's a drug I have taken in the past. Yet, I took the Ultram ER yesterday when I spoke with the rheumatologist on call at U of M because I couldn't walk. I woke up in the middle of the night with itching and only slept an hour. My family doctor said its possible I have developed an allergic reaction to the medication since the Ultram ER is one that stays in the blood longer than the tramadol that I used to take a couple of times a day. He said the tramadol might not have stayed in my blood long enough to show an allergic reaction. I'm taking benadryl and if that doesn't work I need to get over the counter Zyrtec. I began Mobic on March 3rd and am hoping that is not the drug causing this. I guess I'll eliminate my pain medication first, and if I still itch tomorrow it might be the mobic! Guest guest
Hi Toni! I was so surprised that I would react to the Ultram ER since I had had the Tramadol in the past...I'm not sure if I am allergic to codeine, I used to be able to take it but haven't in several years. I'm allergic to antibiotics and can only take Bactrim and Doxycycline. I started Mobic on March 3rd. I thought maybe it was that I was reacting to, but then I realized I haven't taken it in several days. I've been sick with a respiratory infection and just haven't remembered to take it. I normally take it when I take my Sulfasalazine and other morning meds. Then the doctor said that Ultram ER stays in my system for 24 hours and it was probably that to which I was reacting too. He's going to check my chart tomorrow to see what else I can take for pain and flare ups. In the past, I have had Darvocett and can take that ok. I don't think I do so well on Vicodin, I get really fuzzy and woozy and can't function. I was prescribed MSContin in the past but that actually scared me to take because it kept talking about how it can affect the respiratory system and I have asthma. I only took the medicine two times and then stopped. Hopefully they can find something though. I'm in a bit of a flare with being sick and not being able to take one of the DMARD's aclavern33@... wrote: Are you allergic to Codiene? Guest guest
Hi, I have psoriasis and RA. I don't know if this has any relation to your experience or not. I was on Plaquenil for quite awhile when I began treatment for RA. I don't remember the exact duration of treatment on Plaquenil but I felt more energetic and less uncomfortable on it. Yeah! However, at some point in my treatment I began to have more and more itching. Eventually, despite oral and topical medications, I was itching all over my entire body. I wondered if it was my psoriasis acting up so I looked up to see what makes psoriasis worse. Plaquenil jumped off the page at me. As soon as I stopped the Plaquenil my symptoms went away. Yeah! Of course, I had to change meds Boo! I hope you figure out what's bothering you. ez __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi Elaine! Thank you so much! I hope I figure it out soon too! I don't have any hives at all so the whole thing is so odd! I just keep itching! I'm on my third benadryl of the day! The only bumps I have look like the eczema that I have. When I saw the dermatologist they had diagnosed Keratosis Pilaris which looks like the only other bumps I have. I was wondering perhaps too if it couldn't possibly Psoriasis? Or maybe its just a dermatitis. I'll have to put a call in to my rheumatologist who is about 2.5 to 3 hours away from me, but hopefully they will figure it out! Guest guest
Thank you so much! I will try that! I can't seem to figure out the cause of mine either..My doctor is just thinking it might have been the Ultram ER. He called me an hour ago and told me to keep taking antihistamines for a few days. Then when it clears up, to try taking the short acting Tramadol to see if I react. If this is a reaction, I don't really want to go through it again! I had 4 nurses and the rheumatologist call to check on me today. They all seemed very worried even when I mentioned the itching was gone pretty much except along the jaw line. I'm just going to apply some Eucerin and hopefully it will keep on working:) deebs87 <dlohf@...> wrote: In the past I had all over itching also. Couldn't figure out the cause from it though. Guest guest
Hi Joanne, I've experienced the same thing right above my belly button and on the top of my foot. I used to use a powder spray antifungal until I became paranoid of the additional chemicals in it. I have since been doing apple cider vinegar baths and that took care of it. I believe it's fungus/yeast. Are you the same Joanne who was on the forum almost a year ago who was struggling with optic neuritis? If so, is it any better? Happy healing.
