Guest guest
I am so glad that you had that checked, and I'm so happy to hear that it is just a lymph node. This disease is scary enough without having to worry about something like that! Has anyone out there developed diabetes since ra? I have and my rheumy says that it sure does complicate things. My doctor - primary care - said that shaving sometimes sliced off the top of the little hair folicule (sp?) and it healed shut....and caused the hair to grow under the skin, and created that swelling. Like many black men can get if they shave too close. I'm told there are products black men use, instead of razors, to prevent this. I dunno for sure....not being a black man, or living with one, or knowing a black man well enough to ask such an intimate question. The PC doctor also said that one could damage the opening of sweat glands by shaving armpits, and these could also swell up like a boil under the arm..... So, not wanting one more thing to cause me pain....I had enough pain already!... I stopped the shaving armpits.....not such a big problem as I had quit wearing sleeve- less shirts and dresses long before. I have fat upper arms and the " muscles " have migrated below the arm....reverse muscles? The beginning of fat wings? Anyway, I didn't like to display them. And my body hair is pale.....so no one would notice a hair shadow under a white shirt.....not that I wear white very often. I can't keep a white shirt clean more than a few minutes it seems.
