Guest guest
I like sprinking a little bit of nutmeg on the top but just a sprinkle. * 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter * 3/4 cup sugar * 3/4 cup milk * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 1 cup self-rising flour * 2 cups fresh sliced peaches - I have been told that you can use fruit cocktail, cherries, blackberries, pears, canned apple, or just about any other fruit with this but that you should drain it first. Melt butter in a shallow 2-quart baking dish. Mix together flour, sugar or Splendra, vanilla, and milk to make a batter; pour over the hot melted butter. Do not stir. Arrange peaches evenly over the top. Bake at 375 to 400° for about 40 to 50 minutes, or until top is nicely browned. Serve with French Vanilla Ice Cream or Peach flavor Ice Cream while still warm for an especially delightful and memorable dessert. Ila in Maine mailto:sewcraftyila@...
