Guest guest
I take Plaquenil and see my ophthalmologist about every six months. He told me that he's never seen a case where Plaquenil did any damage except once - and that was with a man who was on very, very high does of Plaquenil to treat malaria. They took a poll and found virtually no one with this side effect, but they have to have you see any eye doctor every six months, just in case. Need some statistics... Guest guest
I have had no eye problems with Plaquenil, in fact the only side effects are " gas " if I take it on an empty stomach. I do go every 6 months for a visual field test, and they need to know if you are taking plaquenil so they give you the proper tests. My results have actually gotten better over the years! My mom takes it also for Lupus and hasn’t had problems. My Rheumy felt that Plaquenil was the best option for me because I want to have children in the next few years and he felt that Methotrexate was too Risky. (I should point out that I have a mild case of RA). But that doesn't mean its right for everyone of course. Re: rheumy visit ((())) Thanks , I need somebody to help me understand all this, T > If I didn't think it could get any worse, it did! I went to the > rheumy today, and we talked about meds.
