Hi Gloria- My grandmother on my fathers side had diabetes and he had adult onset. I am very careful about my diet and avoid lots of carbs and sugars. My mother never did. I am having more problems related to my mothers problems as I reach in to my mid 40's. I feel my grandmother on my mothers side may have had RA. It passes onto women through the mothers side most of the time. Deborah

it usually skips a generation. My great-grandma (dads grandma) had it and then my dad had it. My brothers and I have always known our kids are at risk for diabetes.Jean
