Lets think positive and maybe this migraine was a coincidence and from something else shall we? I know that is far fetched but what the heck. Glad your still getting along pretty well on the stuff - keep up the good work. I went to the hospital last night also - I burned my hand and had it looked at and got the right medication for it instead of letting it get worse and infected ect. I have a wonderful husband who insisted that I go so I did and glad I did. He is still having his usual problems with the Combo and not happy about it but dealing with it I am so proud of him for not giving up on it because of all the sides since he is responding to it. I got him a puppy last week hoping to help get his mind off of it and to keep him company while I am gone to work since we found out he will have to stay on the Combo for another 6 months to a year. He will be on it a year this September 3rd. and was hoping that would be it. He is smiling alittle more now thanks to our new puppy Boo. My blood pressure was sky high and my face and body was all red. It was weird! Soon as the shot wore off this afternoon, I woke up with another headache. ER doc gave me some vicodin and it helps but puts me to sleep. Maybe you could take that and it would help and you could still work some he says. He would like to get back to work so bad himself. Or you get used to it. Vicodin is what my doc gave me for those headaches, and they made me really drowsy for a short while, but then they quit doing that. I got the puppy for my husband hoping it might help deal with his plight alittle easier since he can't work and he is smiling more already!! We buried him in the back yard complete with bible ceremony. I laid one of my stained glass garden stones over his grave. Three days later, my husband brought me home two adorable kittens. Not sure that I have the energy to train them.....so may have to have them declawed (boo hiss). The male is named Shadow and the female is named Bandit. Guest guest Posted August 30, 2000 Report Share Posted August 30, 2000 Winne et all... Headache is gone for now! Went to see the Gastro's Physician's Asst. Hubby and I both really like her. We " click " and that is so important. Sometimes I call her and leave a message telling her she doesn't have to call back but I wanted her to know I am doing great! and haven't killed hubby yet. He's just slightly maimed. She says she enjoys my messages. Anyway, we are gonna try upping the anti depressant (Effexor XR) and she gave me Sonata (?), a sleeping pill that she says wears off quickly. I have a problem with over the counter sleeping aids and with benadryl cause it seems to take me a full day to wear off and I can't dose myself up with caffeine while I'm on treatment like I would normally trying to shake the groggys. When I went to ER Sunday nite, my blood pressure was 140/60. I dunno why so low on the bottom, I do know that if I go over 120 on the top, I got a migraine and anything more and I'm about postal! Sometimes it's hard to convince a new doc that my normal bp is around 100 to 110 over 60 to 70. They usually only see me when I'm sick, and that means sinus headache/migraine. Oh and there is the BEST little bar b que place near the hospital. Man oh man did I eat some good down home cookin today! Hubby and I lunched there and had some juicy tender fall off the bone just by lookin at em ribs, cabbage with onions and peppers, collard greens, corn bread, banana pudding and a huge glass of iced tea. (I'm munching on leftovers now wishin I'd bought a whole nother dinner to bring home!) I'll go back Nov 1st, which is also the time I'll get my 6th month PCR done. Except for the migraine, things are pretty much usual - early morning fatigue icky, low energy but feel better as the day goes on. However I have noticed a slight increase in feeling " hot " . It's not like a fever. More like my blood is hot. My face and skin get pink and sometimes red and it seems to tingle a bit, then move around my body but mostly on my face is where I feel it. The P.A. says that is pretty normal with the interferon. I was worried it was thyroid or something but she says, even at the 12th week, my blood results are great, all within norms so far. I did complain that aspirin usually helps me best with the start of a migraine. She had said no aspirin with treatment so I was trying not to. But she said my platelets are so good that if for now, I needed an occasional aspirin or BC Powder to kick a migraine then go for it. Just don't do too much. I agreed and maybe next time I'll have better luck. Tho those treatment induced headaches are stubborn! I want a rebate on this head, it's defective! hahaha I can't believe how much I've cut back on my iced tea. I'm a tea-aholic big time (living in Texas you kinda get that way, 104 degrees in the shade will make ya drink all sorts of things haha). I'll have a small glass of iced tea for lunch maybe, then maybe a glass with dinner but not usually at nite. I'm not a coffee drinker so it's no biggy on that. I only use coffee when I'm constipated hahaha. And cokes are not much of a thing with me. I mean, gimme a 1940's coke and then.. maybe! ) Well I've rambled enough and my fingers have sauce all over em. Hope yall are doing great and thank your hubby for his advice. I'm always willing to listen! I recently lost a 13 yr old black Schitzu (?sp?) that we had raised in a shoe box with a heating pad from birth, feeding with a little doll bottle and giving shots of glucose under his skin every two hours. Hubby had to take him to work with him to keep him fed. In my dreams he comes back to me and I give him big hugs. I really miss him. Dunno what happened to him. I came home from work one day and all the dogs were outside and the front door wide open. Nobody home, nothing missing. Just before this happened, we got a Schitzu pup and named him Ditto cause he did exactly everything the older one did. Ditto is a little lost now without the older dog, but at least I have a house dog to transfer my affections to.
