Hang in there - sorry your husband won't go with you. I hate to hear that

but hopefully he will come around soon and be more supportive. You will need

it believe me. My husband has the Hep C in our family and can't imagine him

going through it alone. You will be in my prayers that you get along fine

with the Combo with out many of the sides that it can cause. Remember we are

here for you and yes start in with the water routine that sure helps my

husband. Stay positive!!

DeeDee,

My thoughts and prayers will be with you on Wednesday. I, too have been

running around like a mad woman. Making dinners and freezing them, doing

laundry, cleaning, paying bills, etc.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing. WE are ALL thinking of you.

Stay positive, Lora

Dear Dee Dee,

It sounds like you are really ready. Do you have

some quick, very easy to fix things for meals? I

don't know about you, but cooking is a real problem

for me when I am not feeling good, especially if I

have nausea. Especially for yourself have some easy

fast things, incase you have a problem with nausea.

Helpful things to have around are: frozen juice bars

or popcycles, yogurt, instant puddings, applesauce,

soups, crackers, and ginger snaps. (Ginger is good for

nausea.) And paper plates are a life saver! My husband

was exactly the same as yours sounds for a long time.

His way of coping with me having HCV was to pretend

that the problem didn't exist. You know, ignore it

and it will go away! He did come around eventually

though. I had to get VERY specific with him about

what I needed from him.

Be prepared that you may need more than one day

off work! Then, if you feel ok, so much the better.

Get as much rest as possible, and don't push yourself

too hard.

Good luck, hopefully the side effects will not be

too bad. For many they are not! Remember, the first

few weeks are the hardest usually. Keep us posted!

Dee Dee... my house is a total disaster. My kitchen floor USED to be white

:)

Sometimes it really bothers me. Most of the time I tell myself - I'm alive,

I'm gonna kick virus butt, my family is healthy and with me and I don't

invite anyone over - lol.

I make the grocery lists and put it on the fridge. I make sure I have the

food I need, most of it I keep in the fridge at work. I don't get in the car

till the a/c cools the car down. Yep, Claudine had some great ideas, paper

plates and cups are worth the extra expense! Yes, it's a little more

expensive, but hey, family gets hungry they fix what they want. (but then my

kids are grown)

oh hey! RED ALERT!!! I got some sides! :) going on 4th month... I'm always

HOT, like a fever but different. Today, queasy tummy, a little dizzy, prolly

from fever-like thing. I tried ibuprofen didn't help. The Fioricet did help

more. And of course, LOTS of fluids (sloshy tummy).

And, it's time for a new do! I have fairly long hair. Now I have fairly long

THINNING hair lol. I've already searched the internet (hairdos.com) for new

dos deciding to go butch short lean and mean. Hubby wrinkled his nose lol

but it isn't HIS hair hahahaha. If I can, I'll do a " before " and " after " .

The Hep Beauty Do :)

Anyone else game for the " before/after " pix?

Dee DEE, and Lora,

I would start drinking water the day before, I find that if I have not been

drinking enough the side effects are worse, however everyone is different,

and then keep drinking water, till it feels like your drowning in it ( it

seems like it any way at times) I happen to already have drank a lot of

water before starting so it wasn't real hard for me but still sometimes I

have to make myself .

I am on week 27 and it really hasn't been as bad as I anticipated, still

fatigued and no energy to do much besides work, have been working the whole

time and only missed 1 day , I have been ill on my days off though a lot of

them I also only work 4 days a week so that has helped . Hang in there

,the positive attitude really does wonders, not that I had it!! lol I

imagined having every worse imaginable symptom and then some but I was

wrong thank goodness.

I also am only taking St. s wort for depression but am thinking I need

something a little stronger. the side effects i hate most are sexual, (

and my husband)

NO libido, no orgasms, I have been on Prozac in the past.

I also am 1 b so hoping that the treatment works for some of us here as it

gives the rest of us a lot of encouragement. There are a lot of very

intelligent informed people in the group that have helped a great many of

us. and for that I am thankful as it is needed.

well good luck to the both of you and keep in touch as to how things are

progressing.

Suzy

Suzy.... he may come around with time and he may not. But you married him

for a reason (even if it's hard to remember :)

I had to threaten my husband's life to get him to go to the first support

group. That is when my current doctor was speaking at the group and I hadn't

yet made a decision on which gastro I should see, but was leaning heavily on

deciding for this guy cause everyone said he was so great.

I drag hubby into the room and introduce him around. Oh gee.. look.. they

look so normal! I'm being fecitious of course :) He didn't say that.

Doctor speaks and answers questions. I look at hubby and he has tears in his

eyes. Wham, I think the reality just hit him.

He doesn't speak to me for 2 weeks after. He can't discuss it he says. He

barely even says hi.

Finally, he opens up. Mortality hit him hard. It wasn't necessarily MY

mortality, altho that was part of it, but mortality of us as humans and of

himself. I think this has made us closer than ever before.

As one hep friend put it, our marriage vows were " for better and for hep " .

Good luck and you know we are with you.

PAt,

He did finally come around think it was the mortality thing too, knowing

that we might not be growing old together,, that I don't have the energy I

used to. But is very positive I will beat this thing which gives me extra

hope. thank you for the words of encouragement. sometimes those guys need

a little EMOTION
