Did I dream that? or is that one? In gathering info preparatory to starting my Big Sis on Combo several years back, that was one of the things that really bothered her, Tammie. So off into the research world I went, and came back with Nioxin. Nioxin is commonly suggested for people going on chemo. It's a three-step process (shampoo, conditioner and treatment stuff you leave in), but really did work! The Big Sis found while on the Combo that she lost hair on her legs, arms, and even eyebrows, but not on her head. Her gorgeous hair is intact. (aka the Little Sis) When my other sister, Pat, was diagnosed at Stage IV of invasive bladder cancer, I trotted off to the beauty supply and got her some, as well. Prior to starting with the Nioxin, she was losing gobs of hair on a daily basis. With the Nioxin, the hair loss slowed down considerably until Pat was in her final stages. At that point, nothing would have saved her or her hair. At times, I have used Nioxin on my own hair, and I don't have cancer or HCV. It's a good product. Rather than getting it from their website (www.Nioxin.com), I would suggest trying a local beauty supply or even Costco's. As you can tell, Tammie, I highly recommend it. The Big Sis is gearing up for starting Pegasys, and, of course, will be using Nioxin throughout. The side effects can be bad enough, but
Guest guest
There is a better product out there called " powerplus " .....if you can find it. I got it from a small town in BC, Canada and came back to Vancouver and now I can't get it. " baffling " ....but even after 2 months there was a lot of new growth. Remember to massage your scalp a lot, my current hairdresser also said to brush with a stiff brush and recommended Lakota for skin and nails. Can't find that either, I'll have to go through the yellow pages and find a health food store that has it. Years ago before I knew I had HCV my hair was thinning and I used nioxin for about 2 years....in the beginning it stopped some of the fall out but never did any regrowth....finally gave it up. But I do recommend Powerplus, it's all natural.
