As far as my internist goes, he's been my doctor for a long time and has been studying up on Hepatitis C for a good while. He was my doctor when I was on the interferon monotreatment. He has learned more about the combo treatment, too. He's a caring and attentive doctor. There is only one gastroenterologist within miles (we live in a small town) and he's a real !#@ & #, if you know what I mean. I tried him once and was really put off. I couldn't trust him. He'll tell me things that I knew were wrong and would get upset if I seemed to know what I was talking about. Like, patients are suppose to be dumb and not know anything. I was just a number to him. Anyway, I think I'll do OK with my internist. He has a friend out of town who's a gastroenterologist and he speaks to him from time to time, too.
