Neupogen

Tammie,

I took Neupogen for several months. Since I take Ultram all of the time for

pain, it helped a lot with the bone pain from the Neupogen. Since my wbc's

were critical, I tried my best to talk myself into believing it was a good pain

cause that meant it was working. (Hmmmph-well, it worked most of the time.)

Ultram is a prescription, NON-Narcotic pain med. I take it for everything!

It helps with the sciatic pain too, if I take enough of them. My doc and I

both want to stay away from any of the narcotic pain meds cause I've had

constant pain for many, many years and Ultram seems to work the best.

If you haven't tried Ultram, talk to your doc about it. If generics work

good for you, then Tramadol, which is the generic for Ultram, might work.

Good luck, I understand what you are feeling.

This sounds wonderful!!! I also take Celebrex for arthritis. I wonder

if I could take both? I will have to ask the Doc about this. Thanks

sooooo very much.

And what you said about telling myself to be thankful, because this

means it works LOLOLOL. I have been doing the same thing myself, but

when it hurts, that talking to yourself gets a little old LOL.

I am trying to be thankful for all of this, considering the

alternative. But the black spots on my stomach and legs from the

shots and now taking the shots of Neupogen and Epogen (which stings

like crazy) sometimes I do tend to get down about it.

I will talk to the Doc tomorrow about getting something for the pain.

Thanks.

ps. Do you mind if I ask where you live in Arkansas? I live outside

Texarkana and just wondered if you were anywhere close?

Hi Betty,

I'm glad Ultram works for you. I've heard lots of good things about it, but

it knocks me for a loop. It killed the pain. I will give it credit for that,

it just made me so goofy that I couldn't even handle the script cut in half.

I've tried Ultram and I never felt a thing. For me, it's like I took nothing.

Ultram doesn't work for everyone. It's like Tylenol doesn't do anything for

me, but it works for a lot of people.

What I like about Ultram is that it doesn't make my head spin, or make me

feel goofy. That's another reason I want to stay away from narcotic pain

med's...they can do weird things to you.

I also use my tummy. It doesn't seem to hurt there. The Epogen stings

pretty good though. I was amazed at how easy it was to give in the

stomach. That is my place of choice.

The peg shots usually leave black spots for a few weeks. That looks

horrible, but they don't hurt.

I will be doing my Neupogen and Epogen tomorrow. I hate the Epogen,

but it doesn't hurt for long, so just do it and get it over with :)

Is the Epogen for your red blood count? As in being anemic? That can happen

because of the ribiviran/copegus, whereas the interferon kills the heck out

of the white blood cells and platelets. Can't win, can we? LOL

Hey, have a great week!

Yes that is what it is for. After being on the treatments for a

couple of weeks, my red and whites dropped through the floor, so I am

now taking the other meds to keep them up. I am feeling MUCH better

too :)

I am just very, very thankful that there are these other meds to

take. I am blessed.
