Suzy dont feel bad after doing 14 months of daily infergen my 6 week post pcr

the nurse called and said undetectable. I found out a few weeks later she

looked at the wrong date or something and my viral load was back at 500,000. I

Well,

My gastroenterologist called this morning. Lo and behold, the lab performed the

wrong test, and then the Doctor read it wrong!

They only tested for antibodies, not viral load. Dr. Shlager says, " I see no

indication by these lab values that the virus has returned. Wait until you can

go to Kaiser in two months and get the viral load then. Assume you are

cleared. "

What the....? A week of ups and downs for me and everyone who knows me, just to

hear they took the wrong test?

I know it's good news, but still...General Practitioners should not be so

ignorant or incompetent as to tell a patient " Your virus is back " when they are

looking at an antibody test!!!! @#%$ & !!!!

Now I can't stand the suspense. Will see if Quest will re-test my blood for

free, since they're the ones responsible....more soon,

Hugs and prayers,

Suzy

Oh, God! That just sucks. Every time I think " this shouldn't

happen to me " someone like you, Debbie, comes along and shows me how

blessed I am. At least, if mine comes back positive this time, I

will already be accustomed to the reality of it.

So, how are you now? Did treatment help? Fill me in if you feel up

to it.

Hugs and prayers,

Suzy

Suzy,

I am doing fine. Even Hep C cant keep a good woman down. I am tired sometimes

and have alot of joint and muscle pains but i just make the best of it. Im very

unsure if i will do treatment again right away. I am a single mom and tx is so

hard on the kids. it was almost like being on for 2 yrs with both rounds. I

need a break. I wish you all the best and if you need to talk or anything let

me know. The best thing we can do is have hope when it comes to this disease

and a positive attitude. I wont let it get the best of me.

Dear Debbie,

Like all of us, you're a true warrior. Yes, tx has to affect the

kids adversely--heck, my 14-year-old nephew instantly took on the

role of caretaker when he saw me on tx!

Let's keep you healthy and in minimal pain until the new treatments

come out.

Hugs and prayers,
