Guest guest
Hi Marie! Good to hear from you! I remember when you finished TX, I was so bummed for you that you didn't go undetectable. But these are not bad numbers, either! 12, 500 for a viral load is verrrrrry low. I guess it's like LeighAnn says, even if we don't respond to the TX, it still protects our liver. Best to you, Marilyn Update - 3 months post treatment Hi everyone, As you remember, when I finished my treatment, I found out that my Hepatitis C virus was back, but didn't have a viral load number. I just got the results of my 3 month post treatment blood tests. My ALT is 77 and my AST is 73, not far from my tests three months ago. The PCR RNA shows my viral load is 12,500, a lot less than the 1.2 million that it was before treatment. When I first learned I had Hep C, my ALT and AST were around 200-220 and my viral load was a lot higher than it is now. That was in 1996. Luckily, even though my biopsy showed cirrhosis over a year ago, my bilirubin, albumin, PT Time, Alkaline Phosphate, and Blood platelets are still all normal. I noticed that my protein count was slightly elevated, but only one point. I'm hoping that everything stays as it is, and doesn't progress any further. Only time will tell. Take care, Marie
Guest guest
Dear Marie, it's good to hear from you. Sounds like your virus nearly capitulated and your health is improved. That's really good; others, who are non- responders, also told me that they feel better despite still being positive. You have always had the winning attitude. Stick with it and know that you are in my prayers. (I'm about to find out whether tx worked or not.) Guest guest
Suzy, isn't she something? I have always loved Marie's attitude, and it seems you share the same with her. Prayers going out to you, too, honey, that you have good news about your TX. Marilyn Re: Update - 3 months post treatment Dear Marie, it's good to hear from you. Guest guest
Hi Suzy, I'll keep you in my prayers for good report on your treatment. It was a disappointment when I found out my virus was back, but like you said, attitude means a lot. Keep us informed.
