These are a few attributes that sell alternatives 1. Pastoral, comes from somewhere unspoiled since time began 2. made outdoors, not by humans 3. rare, only found deep in the jungle or under tons of sand, etc 4. endorsed by celebrities 5. spiritually correct or honored by those with spiritual credentials 6. from somewhere uncivilized and uncannily smarter than we are There's lots of stuff out there which incorporates the above. Whether it works or not, or even has bad effects, it will still have appeal in today's market. Compare that with ours: Take a battery, and hook it to your body to kill the germs. Well!
