I am looking for some of the best-indexed books or encylopedias on human

anatomy. The goal would be to look up a particular nerve, muscle, tendon,

joint etc.... and see an illustration of its location and hopefully a

description. Even better, would be info about diagnosis and teratment of

the area of the body.

Any ideas of some good books or online sites?

go here: http://www.emedschool.org/

I finally got around to checking into this, and it's a fantastic

resource. Kudos to Dave Hall, one of our group here, who is doing

new things in medical education, to put it mildly!

I thoroughly enjoyed signing up and using the flashcards to learn a

few simple medical facts like anatomy basics, etc. I feel that,

rather than wade into a lot of charts and books, this site offers

you the ability to gain understanding in a fun, and interesting

way. There's more there about anatomy than in many books and it's

easy to learn, too.

My own contribution to Dave's efforts will be to put godzilla

flashcards in place so we have a way to learn it that's easier than

we have now! I think emedschool is the best thing to happen yet

with medicine for the world. It also lines up well with our purpose

here to help mankind to use the knowledge...THAT WE ALREADY HAVE.

Dave, if you're out there, I called your office a few weeks ago and

I will try you again.

I have Clinically Oriented Anatomy -- L which has been

very useful for identification and position and relationships.

Also there is the Anatomy Coloring in Book which i have seen on a

CD. ( I have the book and that too is excellent).

I think for the treatments you might have to learn to be a doctor. :-)
