I read the file on the difference between the different zappers. I've

been wondering what the different settings on it are. Like the Beck

setting, I had assumed this would be the same as the Beck device.

Perhaps we can add this info to the Files. Thanks, Alice

Hi, Bob

the length will not matter, 7 feet is just fine, or 70 feet, no real difference

there.

no, cutting some strands of the wire will not affect the flow. it could weaken

the joint a bit so keep an eye it does not break off, but as long as even one

strand is connected your results will be the same.

it's not always ON. Only if the sponges touch or are both placed in contact

with a common conductive material, like put onto a metal table, etc, will the

battery drain. Otherwise if you keep them apart, even a simple as hanging them

off a table so they don't touch, no current will flow..battery will last about

the same as if you never used it. The current used in this is so small that the

shelf life of the battery is the main determinant of its life.

and cello sponges. My question is will the strength of the current be affected

due to the length of wire I used... I used 7 feet of wire for each lead. Also,

when splicing the end that attaches to the battery I cut some of the wires...

will that affect the strength of the current as well? Final question... since

this is always " on " how long will it last before the battery needs

replacement... I assume it will be used for 10 minutes daily. Thanks!

CHECK THIS HORSE WITH WOUND AND TREATMENT WITH PICS.USE INTERNET EXPLORER FOR PICS.

Abstract A two-year old mare sustained a large wound from an injury. After one month of recalcitrant surgical and topical intervention, a course of therapy with a new form of electrical stimulation for healing was undertaken. Alpha-Stim® microcurrent electrical therapy (MET) was delivered around the wound site using pulsed, modified square waves of 100 microamperes at 0.5 Hz continuously around the clock for three weeks. The wound exhibited....

bG,Thanks so much. I forgot to mention this device is for a horse with an infection in it's jaw, the result of a tooth infection. I'll let the board know what happens.
