Donna,

MTX burns going in but without preservative burns more for some reason.

We are fixing to have to go back to injections and I don't look forward to it.

is just fine with Enbrel and loves blood draws but HATES yellow shots.

Becki - I am sorry you have to go back to the MTX shot. They are such a

pain!!!

As a side note, I have to say Caroline got her ears pierced this weekend.

She didn't cry or flinch at all. She got her MTX shot tonight and it was no big

deal. Maybe she's turning a corner. Tomorrow she gets Remicade so we'll see

how that goes!!

I'm really missing something. . . . Why do you put the syringes in the

fridge? I just started doing the injections about a month ago, but no one told

us

to keep the medication or syringes in the fridge. We have the

no-preservative type. Tell me if I'm doing something wrong!

Thanks Donna. I called the pharmacist last night to check. I'd been told

to use the vial for one injection and then throw away the remainder. So long

as you do that, there's no need to refrigerate.

Alia,

I hate it too but if we don't act quick he will lose it.

Now it has spread to the lft knee so that brings the joint count up to 3,all

this in less then 2 months.

I made up my mind today.I want MTX 17.5mg subq(12.5mg now oral)and make it go

away.Hopefully....This is still real small compaired to the beginning of

Enbrel.

I know Miss C's eyes have been your biggest reason for her big drug combo. How

is old man Arthur treating her?

Hugs

As long as the vial hasn't been opened it's ok at room temp.

Once you pop the cap off it has to go in the fridge.

Alot has changed over the yrs.Back in late 2001 was switched to non

preservative MTX because a very small study showed it burned less.

Bull...Dave was on 25mg so it didn't matter. You could use it for 7 days or 2

shots.

Since there has been or was a shortage of MTX w/o preservative it's draw it

all up and store in the fridge.

If it's MTX w preservative you just stick it in the fridge until

gone(50mg,2ml vials).Once again after it's opened.

Hehe. I am sure Caroline will be proudly diplaying them at your house! We

debated if she was too young too, but she really wanted them so we just went for

it. She loves them. She takes really good care of them too!!!
