Guest guest Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 Congrats ! I apologize for not getting you to Sam's but so glad you made it! I had to run yet another child to another docs appointment. Matt and his friend were wrestling around yesterday and he somehow got punctured in the arm by a dinner fork and it left quite the reaction on his arm so off we went....always something here! Guest guest Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 Wow, . How cool! I had no idea that's what you were going for. I just thought you liked longer hair. I'm so touched by your commitment. I can't wait to see you. Hopefully, I won't see your hair. Bald is beautiful and sexy - except on my hubby. His head is a weird shape! ;-) Way to go! Guest guest Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 That's great. A 11 year old girl I know just did that recently too. She had 15 inches cut to donate to locks of love. Guest guest Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 A friend of mine donated 14 inches to locks of love two years ago and is working on growing it out again. And a friend of mines sister just donated 12 inches to Locks of love in honor of her sister (who is my friend) Alison who next month will be celebrating her one year aniversary for being off treatment for Leukemia. I would love to donate my hair but unfortunately these meds have left my hair in not such a good state.. I think all of you who donate so selflessly of yourself are amazing!! Congrats to all.. Locks of Love makes amazing wigs.. as you know i work kids who have cancer and there have been many times when I looked at a kid and thought they were off treatment becuase the wigs look so real! Most of all it makes the kids feel " normal " and that is the best part.. With such a small thing like cutting your hair its amazing the big impact it has on that one child! Guest guest Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Hi all, My healthy girl of 8 years just donated 12 " of unbelievably gorgeous ringlet blonde curly har to Locks of Love last weekend. she now has a cute " bob " that's a little longer in front than in back and feels like a new person. She's telling everyone about Locks of Love and feeling great about it!! We pray that it helps some other child going through some really hard times and brings them happiness.
