Does mould go into hibernation at this time of year??

It can't be that Tracey because he's better now than in the summer.I've thought so much about this. This is not the first year.I think that either an allergen has disappeared because of the cold

weather (although that wouldn't explain why he goes downhill in January)or the central heating???? (unlikely and that wouldn't explain the decline in the new year either)or something to do with autumn?

I don't knowSara x

Sara,

does Tom do any of the allergy things like scratch at his palate, rub his eyes,

cough/clear his throat for no reason, scratch at his ears, make random annoyed

kind of swipes at his head? I'd be tempted to try something like the yamoa on

you and if it worked for your asthma, i'd try it on him as well. Yamoa worked

well for me but even better for my son. If it is an allergy thing, I'd really

consider chelation. I know Tom is sensitive, but there are a good number of

parents who see great stuff on AC chelation with only 2 mgs of ala per dose.

Very low dosing for good results. My own seasonal allergies, mostly gone now

from chelation, made me miserable, even when I wasn't doing the obvious sneezing

and blowing my nose.

Autumn is, I would think, the worst time of year for mould: there are bumper

crops of fungi this autumn. I suppose once it gets very cold fungal growth

outside would slow down, but indoors we have moisture from people, cooking, wet

washing and central heating to provide the heat for mould growth

This is my experience. Late summer and autumn with wet and warm (ish) weather

make moulds worse. The frosts will help kill them off.

http://www.allergyclinic.co.uk/moulds.htm

I'd be guessing - but could your recent asthma suggest your mould was sporing.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC550663/

We find that after August is a good time (ie after most pollens) and for me the

cold weather is good for reducing moulds - so this would be a good time of year.

Best wishes, Sandy

yes, it could be!

did you just feel washed out? He doesn't seem to have other symptoms?

It makes sense to me. I will try giving him anti-histamines if he

'disappears' again. I hate the thought of giving them though, mainly cos

of the other ingredients.

Yes! He has been sniffing for ages although I don't think that it has

gone completely and this is the first year he's done it. It's probably

allergies. Hopefully to something normal! I'll try yamoa next year if he

'disappears' again. After all my asthma is allergy induced and I have

very few other signs of allergies.

yes, I should chelate again. He didn't do any better on AC than DAN!

last time but maybe a tiny dose would help.

Thanks Anita and everyone,

Sara,

This is lovely especially to hear that he feels happy, nothing is better

than that but I quite understand why you need to understand what makes

him this way at this time of year and how to tackle whatever it is that

tips him the other way.

I too am in a similar position only our problem is that N gets worse

seizurewise from Sept-Nov every year and just feel it may have a great

deal to do with the weather - air pressure, lighting.... who knows!!

Hope that Tom continues doing well all the way through

We get the same issues here - 1st term of school year is great last term not so

much. I often thought allergies might be contributing?
