Hi ,

I'm so glad you got into the rheumy. A sed. of 19 is

elevated, but not very much, so don't fret too much. It does

indicate that there is some inflammation in some part of the body

from something, and yes, it could be the ear infection.

If you're going to get bloodwork next week to look for inflammation,

ask the rheumy to add the CRP test. It is a better indicator of

current inflammation. So if the CRP is normal next week, the

inflammation could very well have been solely from the ear

infection. If you make judgement by sed. rate alone, you know what

the body has been going through in the past few weeks or so, but an

elevated sed. rate does not necessarily mean there is existing

inflammation at this time. Both the sed. rate and CRP are useful in

figuring out a treatment plan, if any. Talk to the rheumy about

this. Let us know the results from next week and best wishes.

YEA! , my daughter Allie uses it every time she feels a little

stuffy, and it seems to do the trick. She still gets colds, but it

doesn't seem to be as miserable. I am glad I could help. I have

experience with Humira...and it is great. So if you get to that point,

let me know.

Hi, . Just wanted to let you know that yes, exercise is good

for her. Sometimes if the disease is active, and it sounds like hers is,

it can cause swelling or pain. At those times, she should do what she

can, but if it hurts she should stop. Some won't and play or exercise

with the pain. About the meds, giving them on a regular basis helps to

better control the disease, as I understand it. My son has been on these

various meds for 4 years now and has not had a liver problem. As long as

the dr has regular blood work done, you will be able to monitor what the

meds are doing. If a problem occurs, the meds are changed. Good luck to

you, and remember rambling is what this list it for! Michele ( 17,

First thank you guys for the quick reply ,Ifeel a little better

knowing about cousin sickness. saw her dr today her

last week sed rate was 24,but she wanted to do another one because

she had swelling in her knees again but she didnt have that problem

for along while she still has pain in her fingers but not as bad I

give her motrin when needed but the dr wants me to give her it

morning and night either that or naproxin I really worry about giving

her med twice a day she is small, she seemed fine for along time on

what we were doing,I dont want her to have liver problems or anything

that comes from to much med,Id really freak out if I gave her

somthing that harmed her.I cant sleep cause Im wondering if when I

just started walking her home from school if that made the new

swelling in her knees,I thought exercise was good for her, sorry for

the rambling on and on anyway you all take

care.
