Guest guest
I don't know the answer to your question. I do know that viruses can trigger hives. Maybe he had a virus instead of a flare. I hope you are able to figure it out soon. Guest guest
Helen, I've read about Nick and I'm so sorry to hear about his flare. I think about you both often. Regarding the hives, maybe it's the systemic rash? Nick has had this in the past, correct? I remember seeing pictures of it. If I were you, I'd dust off the camera and take a photo. I think this is helpful to the doctors as you know the systemic rashes come and go. Christian always got his at night and in the morning, fading throughout the day. It might be helpful to call the Rheumy and let him know what's going on. Please keep us updated. Guest guest
Helen, n got hives all over her back with her last flare. It looked as if someone had whipped her. We started her on zyrtec and she stayed on it for several months. The hives never came back, she would get the rash, but not the hives. I hope it isn't the rash, but maybe something environmental . Good luck. (n, 15, systemic) Re: Need Help with hives??? > > > Helen, > I've read about Nick and I'm so sorry to hear about his flare. I > think about you both often. Guest guest
-.. You're right!! I had forgotten Mirian got hives really badly, In would love to mail you off list and show you a picture of Nicks if I can. its good to know someone else with systemic has dealt with these. I dont care what anyone says, but I think systemics systems start dealing with all sorts of things differently than they did pre-dx. Nicks face swelled from amox last dec, when it never did pre-dx and now the hives, which hes never had before. it makes sense to this layperson here (me) that when systemics flare their whole systems go into overdrive and react in pretty weird ways... its like the typical systemic rash, ive seen that on Nicks body, but ive also seen some pretty strange ones on his face at the same time hes flaring. They say you dont get the systemic rash on your face, but i think its likely that your skin can react in many differnt ways, after all Systemic attacks organs as well as joints and the skin is out biggest organ.
