Hi Stacia,

The issue is there is a shortage of MTX going around and alot of people are

haveing a hard time getting it.Even childrens hospitals are being effected.

Preservative free can only be used once,twice tops and must be kept in the

fridge.With preservative can be used muliple times but we have been told it must

be kept in the fridge after you open it and to only use it for a month.No

matter what type the vials still say single use only so it's hard to know whats

true and whats false.

If your rheumy said you can use the same vial 10 times then he must know

something I don't.If the pharmacy just gave you a 10ml vial and you are useing

it

10 times and leaving it out at room temp I would be makeing a phone call.I

could tell by the script that Dr.Lovell from Cincinnati wants 2 shots only out

of

a vial of MTX with preservative.

Going back to truth vs false our old pharmacy accidently got s Enbrel

,bagged it up and left it in the out box for 3-4 days at room temp.They had to

call Amgen and they have done extensive reserch on the stability of Enbrel at

differant temps.We had to use it up within 45 days and once we opened a vial it

had to be used within 14 days.So to sum it up there is lots of things we

don't realy know about the stability of injectables.

-Wow Becki.. now you have me totally confused ))))) easy to do

these days!!!

The vial I have is 10ml, it says on the box its a multi dose vial

and to keep at room temp between 59 and 86 degs and protect from the

light??? Theres no mention in the insert about only using for a

certain number of draws/weeks etc???
