Hey all,

It's the middle of the night, and I'm in pain and can't sleep. I

don't want to complain any more to my husband; it's just not fair to

him. I have to figure out what to do with myself. I can't really

focus on anything because of the pain. It's in my hips and jaw and

wrists. I started the prednisone today, 15 mg...the doctor said to

start with 20 but I refused. But I don't have any pain meds, which

I'd like right now. Argh....I hate how one week I can be doing great

and go on an 8 mile hike in the mountains with my husband, and then

the next week I'm practically immobile. My husband doesn't really

get it, and he feels bad because he doesn't know what to do when I'm

in pain. Also I get sort of a temper when I'm in pain, and the

prednisone certainly doesn't help my mood!

okay just wanted to vent

Hey Elisheva!!! Vent away hun and you know here " we get it " . It is so

frustrating to see ourselves one day fully functioning and as you indicate a

week (or

a day) later barely moving. I have still yet to lose the post AJAO conference

flare. I used all adrenaline in San Diego and now that I am back home my

energy is zapped and I need it!!!!!! Darn this crud!!!!! You know hear you can

dump those feling, vent all ya want and we dont have a problem. I do hope you

are

feeling well soon...hugs!

Vent away! And get some pain relief if possible - any NSAIDs work for

you? What about a warm bath, even in the middle of the night, might

help. I would definitely ask the dr about it. Perhaps there is some

prescription you could keep on hand to use for nights like this. Sorry

can't help more. I know how it is with husbands too. They tend to want

to fix things for us, and get frustrated when they can't make it better.

Gentle hugs and hope you have a better night, Michele ( 17,pauci &

spondy)

Thanks so much Michele. I'm doing much better tonight. The

prednisone has kicked in and my inflammation is down. I really

appreciate your note :-)

thanks

Elisheva

p.s. that's definitely the truth about husbands...isn't it sweet? :-)
