Guest guest
Tally appears to be doing much better now. I'm not sure what has changed actually. I still haven't gotten approval for the Kineret. Maybe he was undergoing a herxheimer effect of the boron supplementation that I was told might happen. I'm not sure. I have also started supplementing him with Ge-132 and silica along with upping his primrose oil. He looks good right now. Swelling has subsided in all of his major joints except one, his knee. His coloring is better as well... I can't really explain it other than he looks as though he is radiant. He has had three days now of being pain free in the mornings and has lasted all day and into the night without getting stiff and achey. I'm getting hopeful that maybe since he has been on the boron now for almost 7 weeks that it is starting to have its effect. I just know that after almost a month of down and very, very bad days he is finally walking and eating again. He dresses himself, doesn't need help in the bathroom, he even surprised me yesterday by showering on his own. It almost feels as though I have been on a vacation for the past three days. I know with this disease that there are ups and downs. I hope that the past month will be the last down we have for a while. Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I still have to believe that he will get better as time goes by. It's all I have to cling to in the dark hours. I'll keep everyone posted. Guest guest
Hi Kathy, I was so disheartened to read in your last message that Tally was, again, having such great difficulties. Even when we've sort of already gotten used to it and have a pretty good general understanding of what to expect, this disease can still really throw us for a loop. Most of us here have been caught off guard at one point or another when things seemed to be going well and then our child's health took a sudden turn for the worse. No matter how prepared you are, stressful and frustrating are mild descriptions of how it feels emotionally. It can turn your life upside down, if you let it. Sometimes does anyway, even when you're trying to not let that happen. Like you, I'm a single parent. So I understand what it's like to be the one sole person in charge of things and how overwhelming that can feel sometimes. I'm so happy that Tally has been feeling better these past few days. Maybe it was, like you said, a herxheimer effect. Maybe the products that you're using are really beginning to work. I hope he'll continue to feel well. I'm sure you've most likely already visited but just in case, here's the link to The Road Back Foundation. They have a lot of information that you may be interested in, about using antibiotic therapy to treat rheumatic diseases. Guest guest
Hi Kathy, I have lurked around some adult RA sites and they swear by the antibiotic therapy and urge adults and parents of children to check out the site Georgina mentioned, the Road Back Foundation I do believe. The talk of herxing is often mentioned, its bad but it has a reason and once it's over things get much, much better.People talk about their RF factor droping and about being able to come of the traditional meds and just pop a Minocycline pill 1-2x a day. They have tried to talk me into it more then once, but we were lucky and haven't had to think about that route. I still pray Tally continues to improve everyday.
