Guest guest
You have to have four out of the eleven symptoms to be diagnosed. Lupus runs in my family. I only had three of the eleven symptoms.. plus my bloodwork was not indicitive of Lupus. Though I still have a predisposition to it, which means I could end up with it I guess. My grandmother has it. Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE, or Lupus) - Lucile Packard Children's Hospital This is part of my hospitals website.. Its a pretty good run down of what this disease is all about.. And how it is diagnosed and treated.
Guest guest
Hi Patty, Yes,SLE is scarey. My niece has it and has severe kidney nephritis. Not 100% positive but I think Lupas patiants have a positive ANA.They also present with a rash on their face that resembles a butterfly.Other then that I don't know much.It was brought up with before diagnosis but basicly ruled out because of s rash and the fevers and severity of the joint involvemant.SLE causes alot more soft tissue involvement then joints. Love and Hugs Becki and 5 systemic

I went on the website of your hospital and looked at the symptoms you mentioned. Once again, many mimic other rheumatic diseases. No wonder doctors have a tough time distinguishing from them. The hospital has a great website. Easy to understand and they cover so much. Take care. Patty
