I have always been under the impression there are several factors to determine the presence of JRA, those being symptoms, x-rays and lab work...who really knows???lol...hugs and smiles...Donna

Hi Georgina:

I thought it was in error. Yes, it will be a milestone when they develop a

definitive test to rule in/out JRA.

Take crae.

Hi Patty,

I think that may have been a slight error attributable to the story

reporter's scant knowledge of the diagnosing of JRA. As others have

said, there are tests (as we all know) that are often performed that may

help guide physicians towards the diagnosis and there are tests to rule

out other diseases and conditions whose symptoms may mimic those of

arthritis but there still is not one definitive diagnostic test for JRA.

That would truly be a great milestone though, to find a particular

marker that ALWAYS and DEFINITELY signifies presence of JRA!

Aloha,

Georgina
