Hi Alia:

Glad to hear some of her liver panels are coming back much improved.

How did she do with her next dose of Prednisone? How much is she taking?

How is she feeling?

Take care.

Patty

Alia,

IM so happy to read that Carolines liver levels are coming down. Im so relived that you are able to give her some mediciations to help her.

You are right about Prednisone... its such a quick acting wonder drug. Now if only it was not soo bad we could give it all the time and not worry about it. How much pred is she taking? I hope she was able to keep down the next dose.

I tapered Nick down on thursday and so far so good.. hes now on 5mg in the am and just 1mg in the afternoon :o)))) By the time we see the rhuemy on the 25th he should be off the afternoon dose completely :o)))

Alia..

Yes I believe 30mg a day of prednisone is considered as a high dose. I hope it helps her quickly and you can start to taper. Did they say how long she would be on 30 before tapering??

I hope she continues to improve. Are you still doing the MTX in juice or have they recommended the shots???

Nick had a good weekend... he did complain of hand pain, shoulder pain and one ankle looked a little swollen and red. But he still seemed happy and it didnt bother him too much so im putitng down to the tapering of the pred. he seems good today and went off to school happy, although he wanted a piggy back ride to the bus stop.

I took some pics of Nicks legs yesterday.. i cant believe the number of bruises on them. He looks like someone has beaten him below the knees with a stick. Today they look even worse, like the bruises have spread??? Ill take more pics when he gets home so the rhuemy can see at the next appt.
