Yes and it is a shame. We could gripe for days and chat with politicaians until we are blue. I have went so far as to tell politicians in DC (while attending advocacy summits) they would feel different if this were there child and thier troubles. It is across the board not discremination to diseases these problems exist, however I do believe that many feel it is just arthritis so we dont see the benefits necessaryto improve the lives of some of these children. In March there will another advocacy summit in DC and if anyone has the chance to attend I recommend it. It is educational and sometimes beneficial but we as JA advocates not to mention parents will have to make noise if we want anything to change. For more information on the summit please go to:

Amen, Donna!! How sad to hear that in our great country with all of our resources such a situation exists. Almost like some Third World story. Michele (16, pauci & spondy)

Just adding a bit~~~

This year the Advocacy Summit features

special sessions just for kids. The kids will have fun as they prepare to go to

the Hill to meet with their legislators. This is the first time the Arthritis

Foundation is having these sessions for the kids, so let’s hope for good

turnout and loads of fun!

Thanks, Donna and Liz, for sharing the information about the Advocacy

Summit. Sure do wish we lived a little bit closer, when I read about

these types of activities. (Or had a private jet, maybe?) I'm glad that

some of you will be attending. Hopefully you'll be able to share some of

the highlights with the rest of us.
